And that is ok to take with chronic lyme?
Actually, it's not for those with chronic Lyme as it increases the parts of the immune system that attack Lyme, so it could cause a massive herx.
Once a person has been symptom free for 6 months, then Buhner says it can be taken. I've been using it to prevent Lyme reinfection for over a year now.
The concerns about
being bitten again have more to do with other strains of Lyme that you could get as well as co-infections. Your symptoms may increase, but should also come back under control fairly quickly (a few weeks?), so if they don't come back under control, it's time to start talking to your doctor about
changing up your treatment.

Dr Steven Philips articles in the Huffington Post? He states if his patients are bit by a tick, he gives 2 weeks of doxy, I think he said adjusted by weight.
Actually, this is false information. 2 weeks of Doxy won't heal even a new case of Lyme disease and certainly doesn't address any co-infections. The dose is likely too low as well, since he got that part wrong as well.
You can find the correct dosages and treatment times needed here:
