Well, my doc highly disagrees because he says it cant be contracted this way, and he seems to think ive had Lyme and bart for around 10yrs. Ive been sick for 2. A few months before it started, I was hunting deer. I know for a fact, at this time period, I was not bit. Temps were so cold and ticks werent out and about. Though the deer are loaded that time of year.

Anyhow, I shot a huge buck and started field dressing it. I wear field dressing gloves on top of cotton gloves while field dressing. Its usually too cold to go without the cotton glove. I was half way done when I slipped the cut my finger. So I took off the gloves and finished bare hands. The deers blood definitely got mixed with mine.

As I said, doc says theres no scientific proof that the bacteria can be contracted in this fashion. I seem to think otherwise. I dont think its far fetched to think the deer carried the bacteria in his blood supply and transferred it to me via the cut finger. If the bacteria can be transferred through sexual contact, why not through deers blood?

Misdiagnosed since 1987.

I grew up on a farm. When I was young, I had a rash on my chest. My Mom took me to the doctor. The doctor took a quick look and said that I must have gotten Ring Worm from one of the animals on the farm.

All I remember is at 10 years old, I started to have a sore stiff neck and headaches daily. CT scan and MRI showed nothing. Doctors told my Mom "kids will fake having a headache to stay home from school. "

The daily headaches and sore neck lasted 4 years. Went to a Chiropractor 3 to 4 times a week, but didn't ease my pain. It was hard for me to concentrate in school. I missed A LOT of days of school. I also would start to sweat profusely for no reason. I would sweat so much that it would drip all over my school work.

My teen years, I started to have my menstration cycle twice a month. Every other week I would have my period. I also dealt with Chronic Fatigue, Depression (b/c nobody thought that I was sick), and insomnia. I had to drop out of school b/c I was never able to make it there.

My late teens, my Mom took me to a Natural Path Doctor. I had hypothyroid, low adrenals, low progesterone and low deficiency in a lot of vitamins. I took 20-27 different tablets daily.

Mid 20's severe sciatic issues for a couple of years with no relief. Then I started to have a lot of blackouts and a lot of GI issues daily. I also started to have my menstration cycle only 3 times in a year. I would barely spot any blood. It would only last 1 day.

30's dealt with not having a menstration cycle for over a year. And No I wasn't pregnant. Visible Blood in my urine. My skin all over my body was sore to touch. Very painful to be intimate with my husband. My abdomen went from flat to becoming so distended that it looked like I was pregnant. I was still working at the time. I would walk around bow legged, back arched, and had a hard time breathing.

I can't even tell you how many Doctors, MRI, CT scans, ultrasound, lab draws that I have had through out 27 years of being misdiagnosed. I have seen every speciality doctor. Psychologists, Cardiologist, Neurologists, GYN, GI, and so many more.

I was misdiagnosed for 27 years. I know this because once I started Lyme treatment, I now have the same headache and sore neck daily that I had at the age of 10. My blackouts are back and still GI issues.

Through treatment I have experienced symptoms that I never thought were humanly possible!!!

Lyme and co's have tested me mentally and physically daily.

Hi Girlie!-

The only thing that has worked for me is A-Inflam. This is the only thing that I have not herxed on. I think that my body got terribly inflamed.

The only improvement that I have had is that I don't stutter anymore (due to increasing A-Inflam). I started to stutter daily when I was just on Doxycycline. This was the first antibiotic that was given to me when I found out that I was positive for Lyme.

I hope that other improvements will follow, Once I get more of the inflammation down in my body. :)

I agree with Trader. If something has lyme in there blood and it gets transfused with your blood, the bacteria are not going to say "oh wait, we are not allowed to transfer this way, so we just wont, because doctors said we can't do this".

That makes zero sense.

I found a tick on the back of my neck while putting my hair up, a day after I took my dog to the forest a few hours away from Toronto, ON in August 2012

Not sure how long the tick was there, I image over a day. I looked at the area as best I could and it didn't have that bulls eye rash that everyone said you were supposed to have so I figured I would be fine, and didn't look at it after. A year later I began having "strange" symptoms, but didn't put the two in two together until about a year ago.

At this point I have been living in Australia, and in Australia lyme is not really recognised as a real illness, most doctors have no clue what it is, so finding a doctor who understood and didn't look at me funny was quite the adventure. Got lucky that one of the few specialists in the country had a practice in my area or else I don't know what would have happened...

I was living in Germany for 10 years and in 2008 got bitten badly by mosquitos, not sure if that was the start or in 2010 when we moved to into a village by the Moselle river and wine growing region. We renovated an old house on the edge of the forest which was full of wild deer. We moved there in the September and it was a very sudden onset of symptoms, I woke 25 Dec 2010 - a date very easy to remember with a stiff and rigid jaw. I was unable to move jaw or speak for first half an hour each morning for a long time after, that was the start of me visiting dentists for next year and passed from pillar to post being told it was a dental/gum problem, which it was but not on its own but part of LD. I also had this awful rage and depression and lots of neuro symptoms. Sinusitis started, pains in feet and bones of my face, scalp pressure and pain, eye pain, all joints painful. Was told it could be RA and then in the end when bloods were all negative that maybe I was homesick and suffering depression, I moved back to UK thinking that was going to be the answer. Then discovered maybe I had LD and have since had a clinical diagnosis. Taking protocol and herbs I have learned about on this site and so much better but still a long way to go.

Actually, I've read of other hunters that this has happened to!! It's not many, but I believe I've read 3 or 4 stories like this.

I dont discount any form of transmission any longer. Each day new patients are reporting no bite, not around ticks or mosquitos, etc etc.....science is so far behind on this issue, and even though more studies are being done, doesnt seem like we're gaining much headway.

Hey, so you got the worst Christmas present ever too!

I was bitten by a tick about 3 or 4 years ago, I remember it was partially engorged when I finally noticed and removed it, but never thought anything of it because I never noticed a bull's eye rash. I also didn't seem to have any symptoms although I did catch a nasty cold some days or weeks later if my memory serves correctly. Again, I was under the impression that you only have lyme if there's a bull's eye rash present so I never bothered getting it checked out.


My symptoms and bart rashes actually didn't start until about a year ago though, so I could have very well been bitten again around that time without knowing it.
