Please help, looking for LLnaturoD in MA/New England

Hello,

i am looking for an LL naturopath doctor. I live in Central MA, I have been to see an LLMD, Dr. L. He uses antibiotics only and does not believe in using natural herbs for healing.

I disagree with his view. Although many people may get better with antibiotics, my body does not do well on drugs, and every body is different.

Especially since the beginning of this year, when I dropped to under 100lbs and couldn't keep any food in me and felt like I was dying. docs said it was all "in my head" and that I was making myself sick.....

One person listened to me and started me on supplements, but her knowledge is limited and she does not treat Lyme, nor does she know of anyone who does. But she has given me the ability to heal my gut slightly.

I was given the name of a place in CT, a naturopathic office. I have an appt in July and am waiting to hear back for their protocols and if they use herbs for healing.

Seems like a stupid question to ask a naturopath office, but the LLMD I went to see says they use integrative medicine and when I called to ask them the same question I was told he does (but he clearly does not). I spent $500 and received no guidance, only that I need to come back and spend another $250 for the next visit.

I do not want to start on antibiotics, my gut is just "healing" (I use the term lightly because I am still extremely limited on what I can eat, and I love food, so this sucks!).

This is what I want: 1.to be miraculously healed....seriously, I dont want to have to deal with any of this. 2. since that sure as **** isn't gonna happen, I want to use natural herbs to heal my body. I want to boost my immune system so it can fight with the herbs But I need someone who knows their stuff, and Dr. L seems like maybe he's burned out, and doesn't use herbs (he left my appt 3 times to see other patients and let me just wait there....).

As a last resort, I would go to antibiotics, but as a last resort. I've been to the ER 3 times this year already and that's 3 times too many, I don't want to worry about not being able to eat again, I just got it back!

Does anyone know ANYONE who treats with herbs? I know the poster, Traveler, has but does anyone know if Traveler had a specialist certified in herbal protocols for some guidance, I know I'm weak but I just don't think I can do this alone :(

While you have obviously spent some time reading on here already, if you haven't ​yet​, it would be helpful for you to start with reading through the thread at the top of the forum titled,"New to Lyme?...Start here!!", as it is packed full of important information, symptom lists, helpful links and pdf's, how to detox when one has these infections, information on probiotics and much more. The practitioner that I used was a Master Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner, Acupuncturist and a Master Western Herbalist - that had never knowingly treated these infections before. I had to learn how to treat these infections and take articles to her for treating Lyme and Bartonella. She found the treatment she wished to use for Babesia for me though. Not an easy task when you are deathly ill, but I was faced with that or going completely on my own as no one on this forum had ever done this before with herbs, save one person who used Hansa Center products. I was not up to having no guidance at all!

And you're not being weak, you are being reasonable. There is a lot to learn and if you have the opportunity to work with a doctor that knows most of this already, it's wisest to use all the help you can get.

​ You will want to find a well trained doctor, not one that has self proclaimed themselves as a LLMD or an ID Doc (Infectious Disease Doctor), as ID docs believe Lyme is hard to catch and easy to treat, and don't believe in the reality of chronic Lyme.
