please don't be too frightened - any medication can become toxic if you take more than your body can handle. The 400mg daily dose of doxy was causing peripheral neuropathy as a side effect and my skin was getting burned from the sun.
yes, girlie, the tablet was definitely easier for me too.
floridadude - technically you are correct, yes, the delayed release form is supposed to bypass the stomach, and therefore not have a risk of esophageal erosion. However, I just caution everyone on here anyway bc we are all on such high doses and for a good length of time as opposed to a regular 2 week prescription. You can most certainly try doryx and not eat, and see what happens. But in my case, even when I ate I could not handle the doxy capsule, so when I switched to the tablet, although it was not DR, it did take longer to dissolve in my stomach than the capsule, and therefore caused less GI upset. Just remember that Doryx is very very expensive, maybe you will be fortunate enough and your insurance will cover it!!
