Does Lyme cause small tumor like growths under skin?

I don't know what a GUMMAS is, but I've had these sort of masses of tissue underneath my skin for years now, before I even knew what Lyme was.

I wouldn't call them lumps, as I imagine a lump as more of a dense ball of something. These are more like, say, a piece of beef jerky (not quite that tough) under the skin.

Tough, slightly sore to the touch.

I have had lumps, balls, though.

Masses, lumps, swollen nodules, everything.

All sorts of testing done.

You're fine, they always told me.

I don't mean to laugh at your expense (not laughing at you, just laughing 'cause you made me think something), but it is crazy how much of this stuff I have just gotten used to over the years.

I used to be the same way, freaking out over every little thinking, wanting to die over it. "It's cancer, it's cancer, my life is over, kill me now."

Not a good thing though, of course, to be adapted to the crap.

Anyway, yeah, sounds "normal," but wait on others' responses, and also get them checked out, if you can.

Lyme disease is a horrible disease...but please know that you can get better....I know it's tough sometimes...but just keep coming here for support...we understand.

My belief is that the small, subcutaneous fatty deposits you describe are caused by protozoans disrupting phosphatidylcholine processing.

For your serotonin issues, make sure you eat or supplement tryptophan and tyrosine and eat a lot of colored fruits in a spinach salad. You will be amazed at what that does to help your issues.

I am glad you are having the lumps tested. It will ease your mind.

But I am concerned about the fear of death. I went through that in my twenties and it is awful. You can't live in peace and yet you just wish it would happen so you didn't have to fear it anymore.

Anxiety and fear are common with neuroborreliosis. Are you taking anything for this? Herbs can help as well as a tryptophan and a better diet as Georgia said.

I also take Vitamin D which I think has helped me with depression.

Some of the herbs that Buhner suggests are:

Pulsatilla (pasque flower) tincture
Leonurus cardiaca (motherwort)
Corrallorhiza maculata (coral root)
Scutellaria baicalensis tincture
Verbena officianalis (vervain) tincture
Uncaria rhynchophylla tincture

Also are you getting a good nights sleep. Insomnia is common to Lyme and if your not that could be playing a role in anxiety.

And watch your favorite funny movie and hang out with your favorite funny people! That always helps to lighten the mood!

I had a lump under my skin on my back for years....like a wad of bubble gum under there. It wasn't attached to anything, just kind of floating under the skin. The massage therapists would work on it to no avail. When I was diagnosed with Lyme and reading up on it, I found that Lyme can cause these cysts to appear. I haven't thought about it in a long time and just checked my back and it's gone now. It never hurt or bothered me, I could just feel it if I rubbed my back. I've been in treatment for Lyme for about 18 months but couldn't tell you when it went away.

One of the supplements that helped me was called HTP-5. I took it before bed at night and got a better night's sleep but it also helped me feel clearer and more positive during the day. Maybe check into it and see if it sounds like something that would help you. You can find it at the health food store but even my grocery carries it and it's not expensive at all. If my memory serves, it does something for your seratonin levels.

Lyme depression and anxiety is just awful. It helped me to remember that it was the Lyme doing that to my brain and it wasn't ME and I could disassociate from it. Fortunately for me, those really dark periods never lasted more than a day or so for me, so it may have been easier to stay sane during them....but when they hit they were so powerful and almost debilitating.

This is also the info I have come across in reading about lyme & co. Adrenal issues an neurotransmitter issues can go hand-in-hand with all the functional systems lyme & co disrupts.

I've been so scared I haven't been back on here
I'm not sure how I will ever get over this fear of death as someone remarked they got this feeling in their 20s OMG ! I'm glad to be understood

Here is my progress:

I remain undiagnosed
My doctors are telling me I'm a hypochondriac and all my symptoms are normal
I begged for a Lyme test over and over and was refused
They didn't test me for cancer that I'm aware of? Maybe?
They didn't give me an MRI or test me for any infectious disease that I'm aware of?
They tested my blood and pee and said I'm 100% healthy BUT IM NOT!!! I swear to you! Today I woke up in dread because my limb parasthesia is back !
The doctor looked at the lump on my neck and said it wasn't cancer (but didn't test it)

She told me all my symptoms including muscle spasms and face eye twitches are normal ! :( even my numb painful joints and tingly falling asleep hands and feet!!

She said my only issue is my teiglycerides are 160 and should be under 150

I don't believe her! She's lying to me!!!

I haven't found an LLMD yet the one I hoped for is $700 for a two hour consultation

I got confused by all the options

I found a doc here who I can get ozone treated with

The ***** center confused me (I know, no doctors names ) they are talking bacteriophages and that LLMD don't know what they are doing, and I'm just wonder what cured everyone else

The only thing that keeps me going because I'm so scared and all on my own,

I'm also very happy that you came back to post and read more!! Keep doing that, please!!! We definitely understand your confusion and your fear. Most of us have had both of those ourselves!

I would suggest herbal treatments as well as you can do them without a doctor. I usually suggest Buhner's because there are simply a ton of people using those protocols, so finding what others are doing is much easier (and his e-books are inexpensive!), but there are other herbal protocols too that you can use:
Klinghardt's
Cowden's
The Chronic Tonic for Lyme (and for Bartonella, I added in Houttuynia)

There's also Essential Oils that some people are having great success with as well as BVT (Bee venom therapy).

Don't ever give up!! Come here for strength, comfort and help! You are loved and appreciated here.

Glad to have you back!!! In fact, I was wondering where you had gone. Don't worry about responding to your other posts. What's important is getting you the help you need to fight this battle. I recognize from your previous posts that you have a lot of fight in you. But I will tell you, those darn Lyme and co critters will wreak havoc on our mental and physical well-being. It can literally zap the fight out of you if you let it. Please don't feel bad or embarrassed about being fearful. Most of us have been there and many are still there. Some days it is roller coaster ride of emotions. Remember....it isn't you!! I literally have to self talk when I'm feeling scared or fearful. We have to dig very deep to overcome those feelings. I just posted this week about doom & gloom.

If you do not think you can do this w/o some assistance (meds, counselor) that is OK. That's why those resources are available. We all have to do what is best for us at that specific point in time.

I'm still alive
I've been avoiding this I guess, it's so stressful
My symptoms have been pretty low but still here :(
I'm still on the detox trace minerals and such but just ran out

I'm still suicidal but not panicking anymore just very depressed
And quiet, been going slow to try to figure out if there's any meaning to my life or ifs it's less suffering to leave
But I'm trudging onward, can't do it anyway so just here quietly suffering

I wanted to tell traveller and you others that I have gotten the buher herbs shipping in :) seems impossible they could help but I know everyone is saying it might :)

I found a Lyme Doctor who will test me for Lyme and Bart for about $400 total, been saving up for that almost there

I'm sorry I haven't been here, I am so depressed and feel I am in hell so I struggle to just get day to day things done and beat the overwhelming depression and things like my lower back feeling broken .

I discovered a heating pad gives temporary relief for that :)
