Tachycardia: new med

I believe a few people on here have been diagnosed as I have with Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia. I am on 100 mgs of Metoprolol 3x a day. My Cardiologist just recommended adding 5mgs of Corlanor x2. This drug has only recently been approved for the Sinus Tachycardia. When first diagnosed my heart rate averaged 135 at rest. The Metoprolol goy it down to 105. Adding the new med it is down to 75. Amazing how good this feels.

Just to clarify - is it for high blood pressure or fast pulse...or both?

Girlie, for me at least it is for tachycardia. My blood pressure has never been an issue. My resting heart rate was as high as 175 when the symptom began and before medication. Inappropriate sinus tachycardia is actually a neuro issue caused bt the brain sending the wrong signals to the heart.

K07, I have Lyme, Bart and Babs as well as a mold infection. No one has told me which has caused the tachycaria, but I assume Lyme. I have been diagnosed with Autonomic Nervous System Disorder, which causes the tachy issue.

This "syndrome" for lack of a better word is pretty rare. My Cardiologist was reluctant to diagnose me because usually this happens to females in their 20's. I am a 50 year old male. He referred me to the head of Cardiology at Mass General who probably could have diagnosed me over the phone from my records. He was very complimentary to my regular Cardiologist and said he understood his reluctance to diagnose as I am probably one of only about 100 males in my age range who have it. He was very interested in a possible link Lyme and has stayed in touch with my Neurologists and my LLMD at Spaulding Hospital which is connected to Mass General.

When he diagnosed me a year or so ago he mentioned a new med expected to come on line shortly. Three days after my cardiologist prescribed the med he called to tell me it was available. I would say that is some pretty awesome care. I am blessed to live near enough to some of the top hospitals in the world even if they don't understand Lyme.
