Help with liver/spleen issues (IMPORTANT/ please read!)

Hey, all!

I've been on a break from treatment as I've been doing a parasite cleanse since May (with breaks as I herx). I've been getting routine bloodwork roughly every 6 months and a very chilling thought came to mind.

My alkaline phosphatase has been increasing each time, now is on the high end of normal. This wouldn't concern me had it not been a test specifically for tumor markers. I've had pain that fluctuates in my liver, but I am worried because the results of a CT scan in December 2014 showed an "enhancing 6 cm mass (possibly large hemangioma) and enlarged spleen." It said to get an ultrasound to confirm, but I never got one.

I have read some places that parasites and/or bartonella or mono could be the cause of the rise in ALP, as could toxins- but it's mostly used to detect growth in bone or masses in liver. yikes! But I keep thinking the mass is connected because I ignored it for a year and 7 months.

I know it was stupid of me not to get an ultrasound, but I was mainly focused on my kidneys (I had stones and very high blood sugar that didn't resolve until February, when I went vegan).

Please, can someone tell me that this has happened before and didn't result in cancer?

I believe I was infected in November 2014 (bite and bullseye on the 7th). Can these infections cause a mass that large within a month, is it most likely a hemangioma or could it be cancer?

I know I've mentioned before that I have crippling fear of death-specifically cancer because I'm all for natural treatments of disease and I'm afraid. My pcp isn't concerned about the rise or mass, but I'm scheduling an appointment to request an ultrasound through insurance.

I also haven't seen my LLMD since March- very low on funds. So I haven't been in treatment for awhile. Prior to this, I was on Byron White formulas.

Please, can someone say that they've had large masses, enlarged spleens and HIGH ALP and had a clear ultrasound that showed a benign tumor?

I also have painful lumps in certain places that could be lymph nodes. Small and pea sized and can be moved, but are very hard. This is why I'm so worried. Anyone ever feel so overwhelmed that they can't focus on everything? I feel like I skipped over something important and caused my body damage.

Also, how do I stop worrying until the day of my appointment? 😔

I've battled hypochondria- related anxiety for most of my life, and I 100% believe that it is all in my head! One trick I used last night was to stop googling and take a walk first thing this morning- no cell phone..

I need to remind myself that a lot of people don't know about Lyme and co and they can do some weird things to us one minute, just to resolve and move on to something new to us the next!

I agree with everything said here. You are probably ok, as you said you are a worrier. It might be wise to get the testing just to relieve your mind. And definitely bring these issues up to your LLMD. And you said your pcp isn't worried so try to concentrate on that.

Hopefully you don't spend a lot of time researching illnesses on the internet. The internet can be great but if you are a worrier it just is not a good idea.

I worry a lot too. Please try not to worry. Worry gets your endocrine system in a huff and isn't good for overall health. I know it's easier said than done. Saying a prayer for you -- I seriously doubt it's cancer!
