Possible TOXIC MOLD

You can either hire a company to come test your house to see what kind of mold it is, or you can buy a home test kit to possibly see if it will show something.

If it is toxic mold, you will have to move out, as you so my won't heal living in that environment. Sorry to have to say that.

I don't know if clothing can be cleaned well enough, but furniture can't. Maybe you can sell it though to someone who isn't sensitive to mold.

I'm so sorry about this - you are in a tough spot.

I think it's safe to assume the mold is an issue. And the simplest thing to do in the long run might be to move out. Do you have anyone you can move in with for a short time until you can work things out?

I wouldn't worry about the dresses as long as you are going to sell them - most people don't have mold sensitivities. I'd air them out as best you can.

The furniture might need to stay, yes, or if you can store it elsewhere until you can afford to have it professionally cleaned that might help. Sometimes it costs as much as replacing it.

I think you are right to take action and not try to work around the mold- it can sometimes really sabatoge treatment.

My parents just bought this house. What do I do about my belongings and debt? I hate to sound like a baby, but I got sick as a young adult living with my parents. I have debts from Lyme treatments, college, and the furniture. I've read that so many people have either died or almost died due to this.

What would you do to raise money? I can get roommates and move. I am getting a raise. I just don't know how I can do it all.

Did your parents get a home inspection before they bought this house? A home inspector should have seen the mold. His job was to make sure it wasn't there.

I think you first find out if it is mold or mildew. Take a breath and start one step at a time.

If you are set in your mind to move out, you will find a way financially.

I am old school and I do not do debt. If I can't afford it with the money I have, I do not borrow to get something, especially something that loses its value the minute I buy it. Then I find I am buying something for twice the price.... now here I am sounding like a grandma, which I am. Sorry.

Good for you!! Maybe it is just mildew and there will be no harm. I am hoping that is all it is. Just try and stay calm. You know lyme love stress.

You are justified in being concerned, just don't get frantic. I don't want you hurting more than you already are.

For your sore throat, you should gargle with warm salt water. Do you use a Neti pot? If you do, you might want to do that BUT ONLY with distilled, sterile, or previously boiled water. I put a little bit of good sea salt in mine and if that is too strong for you and it burns, lessen the salt and add a little baking soda.

Thank you! My parents actually do see it as a big deal now. It looks moldy under the sink, but they are taking the cabinet and the dry wall out to see if it has spread (my dad does this for work and wears appropriate gear). But he said if there's mold all in the wall and not just on the surface, he's Calling a professional!

The at home kits were a rip off and I didn't get them. I read horrible reviews. He said that if I really want to test it for peace of mind, I need to buy a good test from Amazon. I'm also getting the carpet in my room ripped up and replaced with tile, as it's probably old, smells funky and my room was an add-on with NO ventilation (maybe my culprit and the bathroom is just mildew? *fingers crossed).

I am still looking at the possibility of being in a toxic home, but I'm thinking more rationally now. I just looked up some symptoms of fungal infections, and it looks like I may have allergens in this home that can trigger that infection (I had a moldy childhood home and understand the severity).

I also think that since reading Byron White's website (I had great results with his formulas), the fungal infection may be rearing its ugly head because I have mostly resolved my Lyme and Co symptoms and the body heals in layers, he believes. The stress of the move and the potential allergens of this home to my specific situation and body may have triggered something else to act up.

This is a very stressful point for me. My anxiety is coming back, I got a promotion, bought furniture, moved house, radically changed my diet to vegan, then high carb low fat vegan (which may not be best for fungals now that I research).

I could be dying. I could have cancer because of all the hard lumps I won't get checked out until next week. I could live another 80 years or get hit by a truck tomorrow!

I just had to step away and learn that what is life if I'm so reactive and so scared of everything that I don't live? What has my life become? I may as well die because it's all I think about! That's no way to live, and I thank you all for your support, but I need therapy. Lol seriously. I need to learn how to live my life without fear!!!
