Hello H Mommy,
Yes. Yes as well. Unfortunately I have had that kind of pain. Mine may have begun
before I had Lyme. It's hard for me to know which came first. When I was 29 I bent down to
tie my shoes and couldn't get up. I went to an orthopedic doctor who said I had a swollen/
inflamed disc
in my lower back and to go home and lay on my side and tuck my knees up. He said to put
ice on it so the swelling would go down. He said to do this for 3-4 days which I did.
The pain was horrible and I couldn't move. I probably took Tylenol at the time or they
may have given me some muscle relaxers. Then, it went away and after that I
began going to a chiropractor.
I learned body mechanics and did yoga and stretching.
Every 3 or 4 years, it would get aggravated again and I'd have to go through the ice routine.
Some 20 years later, it ruptured and I had it removed by surgery. There was no
choice when that happened.
It was another ten years later, that I was diagnosed with Lyme. Was it causing this
problem all along and I didn't know that? Hard to say.
Now, I have pain in my upper back and neck. I'm wearing an ice pack around my
neck today as I type.
My experience is that the chiropractors have kept me going. They can usually tell
you what's going on in that area sometimes just by feeling the vertebra or x rays if you get
a good one. It doesn't mean not to treat for the Lyme. I continue to do both.
I hope you can find some relief for this. It's certainly no picnic that's for sure!!!
