What's happen in your body when symptoms remit?

Hello,

I'm curious if anyone has any insight. For about a week or two, I've been feeling really well. Practically no symptoms. I've gone hours and hours suddenly thought, "Wow, I haven't felt [fill in the blank of the myriad symptoms I've had] all day." I work a full day, run errands, exercise, etc. I sleep almost through the night with no sleep aid, which I needed before.

I've learned enough to know that I can't have beaten this into submission with only two months of a heavy-duty, multi-pronged antibiotic treatment, plus a previous month of a moderate protocol of antibiotics.

But I'm at a loss as to what could cause this. My fear is that the bugs are just out shopping so they can through one hell of a keg party when they get back and I'll feel awful.

I did go through a two-week herx after changing from Doxy to Tetra. But since then, it's been pretty smooth. Best I've felt in about six months. It's weird (and I wonder if it's a bit unhealthy) to fear feeling well.

about how long I've been infected, well, that's up for contention. The tick was June 14, 2015. Bullseye about a week later. But my doc (Dr. P in Wilton) ran CD-57, and my numbers were practically non-existent. ("< 20" on Quest measurement scale.) He says that could indicate a much longer infection, but, of course, there is no way to know for sure.

My issue is that any Lyme-related symptom I had came AFTER the tick bite. The only thing I did have prior was my right foot would get warm sometimes, but I had two surgeries on it, and I always assumed it was nerve damage. It could be Bartonella (although I've tested negative twice times, once from Igenex; am getting tested by Galaxy) because I was bitten severely by our cat in 2012. I had to have IV antibiotics for a day because of the infection.

He has me set to start pulsing in 10 days, so I'm sure that will stir the pot.....

Smeadley, I am so glad you are feeling better!

PeteZa has dealt with the same issue...like waiting for the other shoe to drop and yet grateful for the great period of feeling well!

One thing I would encourage, as did Traveler, is to definitely stay on treatment. The rule of thumb is to treat for two months beyond any symptoms.

I know exactly this fear of being well or not????

It is a strange feeling to every day, every moment be thinking lyme, lyme, lyme.

When your symptoms stop you still think it. And then when I would get a twinge or anything I would hold my breath because I thought lyme was coming back.

I still am cautious. Healthy, symptom free but oh so very cautious. I still try and balance my life so I do not relapse. It is just a new protocol. Stay healthy protocol.

PeteZa, of course, I spoke too darn soon. My feet are acting up now--burning. Oh well, it was a nice run!
