People do get better

So far every person that I talked to in person who had lyme and co and we're very sick for a long time they got better after the treatment (usually 12 months).the ones that I are not better are the ones online like us... lol. Just writing this because it seems like a crazy endless journey but we can do it.

Many people heal after the 12 month mark, too.

A couple weeks ago I communicated with a facilitator of a lyme group in my Province...and she treated for 3.5 years. She is now symptom free going on 7 months. Only issue she has is tingling on the back of her head...and 'they're' thinking it's leftover nerve damage....that could still heal over time.
She is still active in support groups.

We do have members who have healed who pop in now and then: Chapelle, Deja Vu, Opugirl, Heather's Dad (Heather),

those are the ones off the top of my head.

My take on that: DON"T GIVE UP.

I wonder how many people would have given up at the 2 or 3 year mark...

I know...I'm whiling away the hours....lol....it is a good distraction sometimes -

I have written it many times but haven't really done a search for it. I am pretty sure it is in someone else's thread as encouragement to their healing.


Maybe I will write it again soon.

If 3 yrs of bee venom ,abx herbs and rife save my decrepid body i must persevere ..last year i was at height of my health and now my feet look like a 80 yo man..im not wven half that ..some gains hitting 10th month mark and ao tired ..the bugs they are designed to make you give up...they eat your brain and nerves and play on your emotions ..i am more than lyme borreliosis complex msids or whatever we fuggin call it ..i was a person..and hope of being that again keeps me doing insane things like iv treatments etc etc..i wanna see some of these healed peopkes blood under microscopy...or am i just being cynical ..is syptom free lyme free?

bluelyme I don't believe that I am lyme free. I believe I have it under control. I think lyme and post lyme have me living in a state of continual balancing. I have to monitor all things and keep a healthy balance to keep the lyme at bay.

I have also talked to a few people in person who claim they are better, but not healed, and others who had friends and relatives who were sick for a given period of time, and those people tend to refer to it as a bad phase that passed. "(so and so) HAD Lyme really bad and it took them 'x' months to get over it." I SO wish that were the case for me. I would give anything I have to be able to talk about this disease in the past tense.

We all look to the internet for a broader perspective but it's kind of hard to get any real accurate consensus. Many people post and leave a permanent unchanged record that was a snapshot of how they felt at that time when they felt there was no end in sight, and while I have somewhat come to accept the popular notion that people stop posting once they are better, there are plenty of other blogs and go fund me accounts that are continually updated many times over years and many of these people say they continue to suffer, or get better and then relapse, so it's hard to really get any accurate gauge, which is what we are looking for.

I just want to 'turn a corner' and have some sustainable improvement and relief. I would take 'half-healed' at this point. I keep googling hoping to find a success story I missed. Try to temper optimism and hope with realism and pragmatism.

Sure. Nobody on this earth is parasite free. Just disease free

Actually, yes and no. Once a person has chronic Lyme, they will always have the bacteria in their body and can experience a relapse at any time, given the right circumstances. We must always watch our stress levels, our eating habits and support any body systems that are struggling to reduce the stress on our body.

So we can't ever really say that we are Lyme free, but we can say we have healed if we have no symptoms.

A friend of a friend .....another lyme disease case....they all do abx standard regimen and they are fine. Don't even go to LLMD just a regular dr.
WTH!! This is a lonely disease as it seems even symptoms and healing varies greatly for each individual thus no understanding or support.
According to CDC I shouldn't be worry. The 4 weeks were enough (I really wish it was all true)...and all I got now must be in my head.

Right! If only it was all in my head - then I could rid of it more easily!

There are many thoughts on why some heal right away and others don't, but there are so many possible issues, that it's hard to know without extensive testing of all types. One of the more common issues is that they don't support the immune function very well, or long enough, so that's something that we must be sure that we follow up on closely.

There are a lot of famous people that have recovered from Lyme. Amy tan, aly hillfigger, the writer of the ya ya sisterhood, etc.
