Any one positive or negative on dr. Horowitz lyme protocol

It seems imposible to get to see dr Horowitz in Hudson Valley. As he has closed his waiting list. Do you know any other doctor who follows dr Horowitz protocol with sussces. Finding a lyme doctor is not an easy job when you dont know them or how they work. And with the amount of money it costs, I cant afford to make mistakes

It's so hard, a lot of these doctors have insane wait lists. Where are you based if you don't mind my asking? members might be able to email you suggestions based on your location.

Are you wanting a Dr. in the NY area? ...or are you willing to travel for one?

You should start a new thread titled: "Looking for LLMD in /near______" and fill in the blank ...

or "Looking for LLMD that follows Dr. H's protocols"

As Girlie said, if you haven't ​yet​, it would be helpful for you to start with reading through the thread at the top of the forum titled,"New to Lyme?...Start here!!", as it is packed full of important information, symptom lists, helpful links and pdf's, how to detox when one has these infections, information on probiotics and much more. Welcome! In my experience, if I had waited to connect with a lyme literate Dr., I might have perished. While searching a very good place to begin is to just begin. I'll pass on what others suggested to me. Buy Horowitz's book, begin integrating herbs. I gravitated toward Buhner. I began with Cats Claw and Japanese Knotwood and went from there. I also changed my diet RADICALLY to create an environment that isn't hospitable to damaging organisms (began with a paleo type diet - no sugar, no caffiene, no dairy, no gluten)

Well no doubt there will be some traveling. We live in Denmark. So we are not bund, but east and central would be closest. But if the bedst who can take us is in California then it is California

How old are you guys? Dr. J is pretty awesome but hes on the east coast and only sees children or sometimes up to early twenties. Id love to see him. So are many others like Dr. C.

Are you familiar with Dr. Jemsek? He is a very well-known LLMD in Washington, D.C.

I spoke to the receptionist at his office ..and I was told that after the initial in-person consult, he would do a few appointments by phone or Skype - so patients that don't live close by don't have to travel for several months (9 months I think before you need to go back for another in-person appointment)

He does treat aggressively - often with 3 abx at the same time...but it is a pulsed approach, so the patient isn't taking the abx everyday. (This is what I have learned from talking to a few people who do go to him)

jennydancingfish -I just wanted to clarify that the Dr. J. you are talking about is different Dr. than the Dr. J. I posted about...(just so the OP doesn't get confused since we both posted about Dr. J's.)

Dr. Jemsek's practice isn't limited to younger people.

It is my daughter 17 Who has been ill for more than 2 1/2 years. She proberbly contracted lyme already at the age of 12 as She barely survived a meningitis. She was in hospital then for 3 months and recovering over the nemt 9 months.

OHMYGOD YOU SHOULD TOTALLY SEE DR.J!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He sees so many patients from all over the world even north korea no lie. Plus hurrrrryyyy hes getting so old. I know someone who sees him now and says that hes awesome. I called to see if he would see me ever im.22 but im too old he does 18 and under but his office ladies gave me tons of referrals. Do you want me to email you his full name?

have you looked into Europe, particularly Germany? I'm not familiar with specific doctors there but I feel there are quite a few who are well-versed in recognizing and treating these diseases. Otherwise I'm seeing Dr H in NY and he has helped me a lot. I was in dire straits when I first started seeing him 5 months ago.

Personally, I would go to the U.S. for treatment if I could choose anywhere.

I know how you feel Girlie. Ohhh for the day that ALL doctors will be at least semi-lyme literate. sigh.
Dr J has a bunch of associates in his building that work under him with his protocols...if I were to go I would want to see THE main man!

Im happy with my llmd though, I know he has my back as much as he can have it at least. He has been there in my emergency times over the phone and I do value that.

Its just hard for me to trust doctors in general because lets face it, lyme & co's is just not an easy task.
