Wanted - New LLMD in North East

New to this board, but not new to Lyme.

I've been sick for 11 years and have been seeing my current LLMD (Dr M) for 3.5 years. Diagnosed with Lyme, Bart and Babesia. I've had 15% improvement in the last 3.5 years.

Looking for a new LLMD to get things moving! Need someone that prescribes antibiotics (Can't tolerate herbals due liver enzyme issues).

Currently taking Rifampin, Biaxin and Alinina to treat Bart and Bab.

Welcome to our community! I'm so glad you found us.

Even though you aren't new to Lyme, I would still encourage you to read through our "New to Lyme?" thread that sits at the top of the forum, as it contains a lot of information that you may or may not have been aware of.

The Northeast is a big area, would you mind listing some of the states you are willing to travel to? It would help us be more help to you.

For information on finding a​n ILADS ​(International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society)​ trained​ Lyme Literate Medical Doctor(LLMD) in your area, you can send me an email by clicking on my screen name or the small blue envelope under my screen name. I may have contact information for some LLMD's in your area as well.​ ​Please include your state (or province) and area that you would like to find a LLMD in and I will be happy to share the names I have.​


You can email the Tick-Borne Disease Alliance at [email protected]​ for LLMD referrals.


You can go to The Lyme Disease Association and search for LLMD's 3 times in a month. You have to register first. Here is the link:

Thanks Traveler. Pretty flexible on states or provinces. Looking for the best/most successful LLMD. NY, MD, MI, MA are all fine. Thanks!

BTW - Read through the New to Lyme thread a couple of weeks ago. It was very well done!

Hi glutensugarfree - I'd also like to welcome you here. Well, I totally understand why you want a new 'set of eyes' after only minimal improvement.

I'm from Canada...so not sure how close Washington, D.C. is. On the map, it looks to be North Eastern.
There is a well-known, experienced LLMD there named Dr. Jemsek. (We can post his name because he openly advertises he treats lyme disease.)

Welcome. Not sure where you live. I'm in Manhattan and have researched every LLMD in NYC, CT, Upstate New York and Albany. They all have very long waiting lists so be super nice and ask to be put on a cancellation list. That is how I got my appt. with Dr. R in Manhattan. He used to work out of Greenwich. If you Google Lyme doctor 566 Seventh Avenue NYC you will find him. He is wonderful and I'm really glad I want (almost cancelled because they are all so expensive). The wonderful lyme-angels on this board convinced me to stay the course. Glad I did. He is $950 for first appt and that does not include testing. Follow ups are $350 I think. Dr. H has a one year waiting list (or did) and I think he is $1500. Dr. B in Rhinebeck is also excellent think he is $850., Dr. S. in Albany is ok I know people who went to him - also around $800+ - Keep us posted.
