Advice on dealing with adrenal fatigue with homozygous on MTHFR?

My wife was diagnosed with Stage 2 adrenal fatigue. I've seen several folks on here with similar issues and wanted to gather some best practices/recommendations on how best to nurse her body back to health. She's also Homozygous on MTHRA A1298C gene mutation so detoxing is apparently tough as well. Thanks!

I'm currently taking Thorne Adrenal Cortex, 2 in the am, 2 mid-morning, and 2 early afternoon. My doctor wants me to take low dose hydrocortisone, but I'm a chicken. I've taken licorice root in the past. I'll see how it goes with the cortex first. I'm reworking the inflammation angle as I know that's a large contributor to the adrenal issue. Oh and I also do DGL...it isn't as potent as straight licorice root but it can help the adrenals as well as leaky gut and digestion.

I take an adrenal product from Vital Nutrients. It's helpful. 2 in the morning 2 at lunch. Make sure to never get hungry as you want adrenals to rest and not kick in to gear. So that means eating 4-5 small meals a day and always balanced with protein, carb and fat.

I started b12 shots and ..bee pollen ..adaptogens ..if it gets bad small dose cortef will have to be used ...also for low bp i chew on licorice root .they make a inhaled aldosterone ..pricey

I started out on adrenal glandulars, but they only got me out of the most dangerous situation with my adrenals, then I plateaued. After that I transitioned to Homeopathic remedies brand NatraBio (for adrenal and thyroid) and have made some nice progress, despite the stress that was still on my body from treatments/herxing.

I also started using the adaptogenic herb, ashwagandha - only I use it as soon as I get up and then again no later than 2 pm (same as I use the homeopathic remedies), and it's been extremely helpful for me.

I have not had any gene testing, but I know I have a particularly hard time being able to detox well, and I still use these things easily.

Thank you for your vote of confidence, Artermix! LOL! Unfortunately, I've had to do quite a bit of research on this as well, as I had to fire my doc due to her ignoring the fact that I had plateaued. I'm not sure that my information is correct for everyone, as these are hormones that will be highly individual for each of us.

I have that gene mutation as well. I take the NAC and Liposomal Gluthalinone my liver enzymes have never looked better.

I know this doesn't assist with adrenal issues.
