You'll have to share some of what you're doing with me, Yazz. I've also had a lot of GI problems over the years, and have been taking measures to correct them, but I could always use some fresh insight.
Antonio, I am no expert on gut problems by any means. Just read and try different things. Aloe Vera juice still burns after swallowing, so not all the way healed yet, but much better than before.
I am on Cat's Claw by Madre Nature, 500 mg. three pills two times a day, S-Boulardi twice a day, Turmeric twice a day and in meals, PGX Daily capsule (a fiber supplement gentle on the gut) one before each meal, Colostrum-LD powder by Sovereign Laboratories one tablespoon upon waking before eating and another dose last thing before bed (this powder is great!) and starting to use coconut oil with foods.
As far as diet, low carb, no grains, sugar, eggs, starches, soy, gluten, nuts and alcohol. Basically I just eat meat and vegetables that gut likes.
My breakfast...
Ingredients -
A package of organic chicken thighs
chopped onions and celery
minced garlic - I use the type bottled in spring water
bay leaves
turmeric
1 can Campbell's French Onion soup - optional -
Bottled water
In the evening, get a big crockpot and put everything but the chicken and water in the bottom. Add chicken and top off with water.
*Warning! Don't fill to the top of the crockpot. It can overflow in the middle of the night.
*
In the morning, I have a chopped up thigh, broth-w-fat, coconut oil and frozen peas.
The broth goes bad fast. I keep mine on the top shelf of the fridge.
This is my version of the GAPS / FODMAP meal. Hope you like it!
