i want to take bactrim without doctor prescription.so please tell this can harmful.only single dose.

Bactrim is a large spectrum abx....it is not used for Lyme as I understand.
You should check the online clinical literature on it...dosage and applications.

Actually, Bactrim is used for Lyme by some LLMD's - but a single dose won't help.

Taking an abx for gas pains won't help. And a single dose won't help the Lyme disease.

I did not know Bactrim was used for lyme. So why is not prescribed more often? Side effects? It is sold over the counter in Italy.

I'm not very good with abx and why or when they are used and when they are not. I do know that some LLMD's prescribe the injections, and some find great benefit from it's continued use.

Well I think I will jump again on abx bandwagon if I see that Buhner has not succeeded in the months ahead.....or before I shoot myself in the head....because I cannot really foreseen myself battling this for the next 5 years. I truly rather be dead.

Yes, Bactrim is an antibiotic used for lyme, and even bart treatment.


I was worried about taking it because of the Steven Johnsons syndrome that can happen. It's rare, but it freaked me out when I read about it.

Abhi- Why don't you try activated charcoal? In UK it is marketed to help with this issue

I had a miserable herx from Bactrim - given for a bladder infection. I DEFINITELY felt it give me a boost towards the land of health. I asked the Dr. at urgent care - "what bacteria does this kill?" He told me, knowing I was thinking "lyme" - it isn't used to treat lyme. WRONG. and..my questions was, what bacteria does it kill. It does kill the lyme spirochete.

Bactrim tiggered a lower motor neuron disease ..boiled my blood ..may have sent toxo or protozoa running ...or chased lyme bart into nerves ..i did 10 day and am not the same.it is banned in the uk i believe ..it is a old sulfa drug and trimithoprim ..is two abx like amox clauvinate ... alinia is anti protazoa and maybe antin cyst lyme and bart .also tinidazole is known to help giardia and lyme

are you on nystatin or diflucan for candida ?..and probiotic 100billion per day ...?. ..and no sugar ?

In 99 Horowitz developed a protocol for Babesia with Mepron and Bactrim,, each day for ten days I had to increase the bactrim until the last day I took about 6 (or more bactrim) with the Mep. I remember being SO nauseaus. At the time, he thought it about 90% effective for clearing Babesia.....

I was surprised it didn't kill me... It didnt kill the babesia either.
Also oddly my liver tests were improved on this regimen..
