Fasting

Personally, I would not do it. But that is because I want to take good care of my body and I feel sick when I don't eat. Also, I am not a fan of juice. Too much sugar is added to juice.

But, I tell you what... If someone had of told me that fasting for 40 days would have cured my lyme, you bet I would have tried it. No one ever said this anywhere in my research to treat lyme. Good nutrition was always mentioned.

Colin - Did Dr. semi treat lyme, too?

He treated Lupus MS Autism and Alzheimers from what I've read about, which all of those diseases underlying cause is Lyme disease as I'm sure you're aware of.

Krimpet it repairs your immune system because it's not dealing with all the crap food that we eat everyday, anything that's not natural. You should do some research on it to understand what I'm saying..A good diet is key, I'm just saying fasting is s good thing for dealing with chronic illnesses as it kills of Parasites, bacteria, etc. it's good for all the organs.

But not every case of Lupus, MS, Autism, and Alzheimer's is caused by Lyme.

Every single case is Traveler whether it is Lyme or a co infection. Dr Klinghardt stated so. Also nematodes in the brains of many per Dr Alan Macdonald

There is no evidence that every single case is...

"....nematodes in the brains of many..." - not all (I think Dr. macdonald was talking about Alzheimers' in particular)

Yes, I saw Under Our Skin - and am familiar.

But, you are saying Alzheiemers, MS, Lupus,Autism, - ALL are caused by Lyme and co's.

You simply can't say that. I suspect, as many do that there is an infectious cause - but at this point we can't say for sure that all those mentioned are caused by Lyme and co's.
I hope the research is done...and we find out.

We all have such varied treatments.

I am too much of a foodie to go without food. And, I don't eat junk. We are close to 100% organic in our home. I have a fanatic husband that reads ALL labels - even on condiments!

It seems like starving the immune system would allow the parasites to take over and have a heyday feasting on our organs. I mean, we'd be depriving our bodies of nutrients, not parasitic or opportunistic bacterial or viral infections. I think anyone that claims one thing is the cause of all illness and one thing will cure all illness is delusional and simplistic. Our bodies are incredibly complex with infinite variables at play. Keep us posted though!

Personally I woudn't do it. My body is already so weak from Lyme itself, I don't think it would survive such a strict diet.
But I heard a lot of stories that people healed various diseases with fasting.

I am a huge fan of fasting. I practice it daily. I am not a fan of drinking tons of water while fasting.
I fasted also for days at the time up to 72 hrs (out of necessity not because I wanted to fast)...I never got worse with lyme ..
I implemented fasting along with exercise and muscle building. Fasting before working out actually increased muscle growth (if followed by protein intake as post workout).
Fasting has been used across the board for millennia in many forms. Fasting is better form of detox for me than any other, too complex (at time dubious) detoxing rituals. Again, one should use it IF is comfortable with.
This is how you clean animals before you eat them...especially snails. You got to starve them for 24 hr....
There are several studies done on fasting and on depleting the body to the point of starvation....meh the Germans experimented in WWII ....plenty....as we know. In any case, studies have showed that a lower calories intake below the said "guidelines" ....( I leave it to another rant).... it stimulate longevity genes.

We just live in a society brainwashed that we have to eat all time 24/7 at a set time and people are very defensive about fasting.
Funny thing is....people would blindly fast for religious reasons but will question health reasons.

And finally when I had to fast and drink all that water for my colonoscopy last Dec....I felt great for 3 solid week. This was before I was diagnosed with lyme...and I had lyme.
