You took doxy for 2 weeks only? or have you not finished it yet?

If so, it can take longer for a herx to happen.

I may have missed this, but what dose of Doxy are you on? Anything under 300 mgs a day may not make a person herx - and some don't herx until the 2nd or 3rd month. There are a few people that don't herx at all.

I started with 400 mg in two doses a day for first two days now in taking 200 mg a day ad infective doctor said that dose would hurt My liver im keeping on this since 2-3 weeks can't get prescription for more than a month so the problem is with his knowledge of Lyme... If you have in a month you healed...

Aramiz - do you have a particular issue with your liver? Or, was the Dr. saying the doxy would hurt your liver even if it was a healthy liver?

200 mg twice daily is the usual dose to treat lyme. (not 200 mg daily) In fact the 200 mg daily will not be enough.

Unfortunately a few weeks won't be enough...no matter what dosage you are on.

I just wanted to agree with Girlie on this. You are going to need to see a LLMD or go on your own with an alternative medicine protocol in order to heal. Doxy used alone and for longer periods will encourage the Lyme bacteria to form more round body forms (cyst form), which is a lot harder to treat.

llmd's theres no one in italy... and got no money enough and wellness to go outside in switzerland or germany my most bothering symptoms are a lack of feeling of reality as im stuck to my body, i dont know if its lyme related i just dont seem to be able to stick with reality

That can very much be a Lyme symptom.

Since you can't get to a LLMD, I would really encourage you to buy Buhner's books so you can treat yourself with a full protocol.

Acne patients get an open prescription (meaning they can refill it monthly without going to their doc each month) for many years at a time for 400 mgs of Doxy a day and more. It won't hurt your liver any more than it hurts theirs. We are aware of the issues that treatments have on our liver and we work to make sure it's working well and detoxing well in order to avoid any possible "damage". The ID doc isn't treating with a high enough dose to help you, it's only stopping the bacteria from replicating, but not high enough to actually kill them. Also, long term Doxy alone is never recommended for treating Lyme because it encourages the bacteria to go into a form that no treatment will work (round body form or commonly known as the cyst form) - but it can be reversed when the Doxy is discontinued.
