Have been on treatment for 6 days no herx

Hi,
I had gotten diagnosed last week with Lyme's and began tx. I feel no different at all. I thought I would herx but I have not. Is this the norm or am I in the minority? Does it mean anything like could it mean i have a co infection or another factor to my illness? I am not expecting expert answers, just thoughts or similar experiences.

I've been on doxy, ceftin, plaquenil, mycostatin, (prescrip)
tox ease gl (herbal)
Iteres (homeopathic)
Vitamin d + K
boluouke
Transfer factor multi immune (immune boosting supplement)
Omega 3
CoQ10

This is my dr's protocol...
I have not herxed and I realize some people don't herx but I am worried this means something bad

I did not herx either for 3 weeks....I did not know what it meant.....I also think it was something bad.....or maybe your lyme is on the hiding life cycle and that is why you do not herx.

cb1234 - 6 days isn't long enough...many people don't herx until a few weeks...some don't ever herx at all.(I believe that is uncommon, though)

...or herxing can happen withe a new medication.

Cb1234....PeteZa didn't herx either while treating and she is healed. She says it's possible that she didn't herx due to the tox ease which I see you are on as well. She detoxed as well and are very healthy.

Personally it would be best not to herx. It does make your body work harder. You can get well without herxing, tho as Girlie stated, it is uncommon though.

In his "Healing Lyme" book Buhner says only about 20% of people herx.

And probably half of that is just a bad reaction to meds.

hmmm...I don't agree with Buhner on that one...
I know from this forum, along with people I talk to personally - most herx...

..and I also don't think that half of that is a bad reaction to meds.

I herx within 24 hours, sometimes even sooner. Everyone seems different.

I thought most people herxed....

ok so I guess I need to give it time.

my dr. said it gets bad before it gets better....
I'm hoping its just Lymes and no coinfections or additional things like mold, I'm being tested for mold as well and I heard a story on NPR about the Swiss agent they found which is a coinfection to Lymes.

I am so used to having an illness treated in a week ....this is still unreal to me

I herxed hard on my first round of doxy, but not on the second. Starting my third week on this regimen and not herxed so far. Give it a while.

People who don't herx usually don't go online to right about it or look for extra help on forums... so we might have a very selective bias here.

That's said, doxy is quite nasty stuff by itself, it's quite hard to feel no different at all when on it, unless you are built like a tank.

I think people like us just have a good system for filtering toxins--I'm assuming this because I never had hangovers in the past either. But I never herxed, or at least only barely at a level not much more than my normal symptoms.

I went very slow. I believe that herxing is very unhealthy and puts your body in stress. I worked hard trying to keep my body in balance. Killing spirochetes and eliminating them and their toxins at an equal ratio.

I listened to my body. If I thought for a second my stools were getting too hard, I took care of that. If a joint ached, I addressed that. I was constantly diligent in taking care not to herx. Always listening to my body and what it was trying to tell me to address.

I did Tox Ease GL and eventually got to 2 droppers full, 3 times a day. I think it definitely helped and I did detox a lot all day long. I also ate healthy and got good sleep - even if I had to take children's liquid benadryl for a couple of weeks. I only took a cap full and this was the worst manmade thing I took.

cb, the name of the game is get well and herxing is not a sign of that. It is not a goal that you should want.

Add in some more detox methods - gently and slowly and maybe you will be like me and not herx.

Herxing does not mean you don't have symptoms. I still had symptoms, believe me. The head pains for me were horrible and debilitating.

I was doing a lot of them before I got lyme, but she told me how important it was to do even more. They cannot hurt you unless you try and do them all at one hard core.

Add some in here and there and get them to be a routine part of your life.
