I recently just got diagnosed with Lyme in January of this year. I have had raynauds syndrome for at least 3 or 4 years now and have had a few very random episodes of shortness of breath maybe lasting 5 minutes each then going away. then in later 2015 I would have excessive sweating everyday. On October 31st I had shortness of breath that is still here to do this day. Next day, chest pain, dizziness, blurred vision(still going on). People think that maybe my raynauds and weird shortness of breath episodes were early symptoms of lyme because of how bad my "actual symptoms" started. On November 1st, 2015, that was the last day I ever walked, even till now. I have lots of symptoms that I don't feel the need to name, but just curious if there is anyone like me that cannot walk. Basically severe weakness and the chest thing were my first "real" symptoms. Is there anyone else that is unable to walk from this horrible disease now too?

Welcome to our community! If you haven't already, to familiarize yourself with the resources here, I'd highly recommend visiting the info. link at the top of this forum. In January of 2016 I was unable to dance any more, and then became so slow and weak I was only able to walk ten yards. Although I am not symptom free, I am not able to not only walk more than ten yards, I am going to a weekly gigong class, up to swimming 6 short laps, able to sprint/walk for around 15 minutes, and able to work on choreography. So, so, so sorry. I have heard stories of people bedridden from the disease.

Why is it when every time someone new posts the first response is read the info link?

Is there something in that link that would have helped or stopped tickedoffari from posting? Perhaps there is some sort of reward for telling new posters to read the info post? Woooo Hooo I have corrected 5 people for posting etiquette and get to move up a level.....


Seriously if you are here for something other than helping people looking for a cure and just waiting to correct some poor new poster looking for help perhaps your moral compass needs an adjustment.

Navigator - We encourage new members to read through the "New to Lyme.." thread so they can familiarize themselves with information about Lyme Disease.
Many new members have very little knowledge and there is a lot of useful information in those posts.

First, I don't know what it has to do with morality.

Asking them to look at the New to Lyme thread...isn't correcting the new poster...it's providing them with information.

I don't think your post has any use here...so please refrain from further posts like this one.

Because they may find their symptoms there, which at least for me, was very validating.
Also the info about detoxing is in there, and so much more that would help people get some of their answers, not that there is anything wrong with starting a thread to ask, but some people are hesitant to ask all the questions that are in their heads, and a good deal of it in the intro might not know about to even ask.

It's a way to bring 100's of people to one location that are often concerned with the same thing.

I personally point people to the informational thread because there is so much great info. in it. I wouldn't want anyone to miss out on that, and it is also a way of welcoming people to the community. Also, those who know a s-tload more than I do strongly encourage the community to point newbies to this link as a way of orienting them to the forum. It is a way of saying welcome, here is a little welcome gift the community created, INFORMATION> Did you happen to not that after I provided info re: the thread I responded to their question directly? Thanks Girlie for #3. I am not here for "points", or to prove anything or to move up. I'm here as a part of my recovery journey, for the great support I've gotten here, and to also be a kind and empathetic resource to others.

Nope, no rewards..no levels to move up...we just want to help people and support them ....that's it, nothing more.

I am actually in awe of this community...I know it helped me when I was floundering...and in despair.

LOL...guys this whole thread is funny....Meh Navigator, I don't disagree with you but in all truth I think multifacetedme was just trying to be nice, and helpful....unlike me. Every forum on web as a sticky with FAQ,, most people avoid it first.

Are you seeing an LLMD? The breathing stuff sounds like it could be babesia?

Yes, we got side-tracked....

As K07 said (thanks K07) - there are other members who cannot walk...or have trouble walking.

Tickedoff - Some members are on in the mornings - so if you don't get any responses tonight...just check back tomorrow.

I have muscle wasting and my gait has changed hope to stay walking ..not funny as a rheumatic doc probably gave you steroids ? which may have worsend uour condition ...im sorry for the blatent diseregard ...do no harm my ass

the girl in under our skin is walking and working with treatment ...
i know a lady who had palsy and foot drop with als dx and with 2 yrs bee venom and iv h202 she is walking and working ...

the claudation of vessels is likely cause from a infection in the blood vessels loke bartonella or borrelia the also eat our nerves ....and the shortness of breath is like ly babesia or another protozoa ..

dna connexion will do a test without a doctor .but i do recommend you book a appt with a llmd from ilads ..cash in 401 k and fight for your life ..the doctors will let you die ...

Yes people stop walking. Before I started my treatment in could not use stairs because Mt legs would give up on me. Sad...the pain is still there but the weakness is much better. look for a LLMD as soon as possible.

Navigator its because the welcome link has all sorts of extremely helpful information. Its basically the forums way of giving a new member "the lyme bible" as soon as they walk in.

Also I know a lady who was on a wheelchair but after five years of iv and oral she is now in remission. Her son also was wheelchair bound but now also in remission. Buhner says he has had many patients wheelchair bound and now healed fully and running etc in his bartonella book.

I have lost my ability to walk as well. Fortunately, for me, it was never long lived, only a few weeks at a time, but it's happened several times to me. And the harder I tried to force my legs to move, the less they moved during those times.

And I agree with KO7 that the shortness of breath and the excessive sweating could be signs of Babesia.

Do you need to find a LLMD? We might be able to help with that. Just let us know.

Welcome, tickedoff. Sorry you are having so much difficulty. You certainly found the right place for answers and support. Don't let the earlier side-track prevent you from coming back; that was a very rare occurrence!

For years I could barely get around without a cane. My left leg got too weak. The knee would collapse. I'd have to turn my toes in and my leg was so weak I would have to swing it out in a semi circle fashion because I couldn't lift it to walk normal.
Kept getting told it was a pinched nerve. Got tested for m.s. Gave up. Had it for 5 years and now is just come back after a I had a baby. But very sporadic.

I also used to have to use a stool in my shower as my legs would give up on me during warm showers bit I lived in a basement suite in Canada during the winter. They had to be warm showers lol

tickedoffari, we have a few posters that cannot walk. One of our last moderators comes to my mind right away.

I am so very sorry you cannot walk. I have been in a position where I could not walk and it was so frustrating and I was alienated from so many things. It was not due to lyme, but surgeries or injuries.

Not being able to be mobile can really get me down.

I hope your treatment will help you with this. Good luck and my prayers.

The shortness of breath and excessive sweating are also signs of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever.

Hi tickedoffari,

Welcome to this forum! I lost the ability to walk for a long time (I think it was over a year), I fell down a lot and had to use crutches. Once I started to detox the use of my legs came back little by little: I started off with foot detox baths (the instructions are in the New to Lyme? Start Here!) thread or as some refer to it the "info" sticky thread on top.

I also took a supplement that bound up toxins and the use of my legs came back. Toxins play a huge role in getting better so the more toxins you can get out of your body the better you will feel though I must say that most people who first start detoxing feel worse before they feel better which is perfectly normal (which is why it's good to start slow). I went from being bedridden to doing aerobic exercises which I still do today.
