What do you do to distract yourself from Lyme, symptoms, life in general??

Netflix junkey. I get home from work, fix my food, plug into something playful and light. Right now I am into the Heartland series. Love the idea of watching a food channel. Now that I have my brain back I've been writing and working on book projects. I am beginning to get more back into my body as a dancer, and if I have the energy, on the weekend, I'll crank out a little clay sculpture. My cat is an endless entertainer and herds me until I sit down in her favorite chair and she climbs up to purr and be groomed. She is cleaner than she has ever been.

I'm a youtube junkie as well. Mostly music videos. Looking up old rock and roll band videos, classic rock, all the way up through music videos made by people I've seen live in recent years and maybe met in person/gotten to be friends with or other musicians they've played with.

But I watch newsworthy videos, special interest videos...that sort of thing.

My real zone out was playing the free online casino games, but can't do that through my old vista and chrome . I'm not fond of switching back and forth to Explorer.

So I play Words with Friends through facebook. It's like scrabble. I have to pull away from it sometimes, my brain just will not work to think. But I like to think the game helps keep me sharp.


Away from the computer I will go tinker with my outdoor plants, or mess with my miniature horses. I used to fish, but have been to sick the last two years to make the effort.

Almost forgot. I recently started playing a lot of Freecell again too. If I lose, I really don't care.

haha julymorning - I play Words with Friends on my phone - I play with 4 people...one gal...a friend from my university days - who is a computer programmer always beats me. Maybe every 10 games I get one off her.. I asked her how come she's good with words...she's a math person. She said because her Dad was an English professor...so she's just a smartie pants - all around..

I would love to play with you sometime! I have one lady I play with, lives all the way across the country and we've become confiding friends! We usually maintain about 6-8 games going at the same time.



Speaking of youtube earlier, I used to love making videos and putting music to them. I don't always ask permission of the music artist but it seems to be alright.

Yep.....

There is no such thing... to do something to forget about it. I go to the gym, work, etc. I keep going but anything can't stop my body pain so far... so in my case there is no distraction from my physical pain and burning body parts. Now I can understand if the major Symtoms is more related to anxiety or depression then maybe some activities can boost some in the brain to take the attention from lyme.

Yeah totally. I fill up my cart because then I'm set when I win the lottery. Lol

I take long walks and listen to the snapjudgment podcast, I take photos (family shoots, maternity, etc) and spend far too long editing, I love reading anything I can get my hands on and I love audiobooks!

You tube......kind of popular here hu?

Its not a distraction for a bad pain day, but I like watching journeys, outdoor adventure stuff and trip destinations. If you cant go there, afford it, or physically do it , You- Tube it!

I love Go-Pro recorded action stuff. What an invention. Those flying suit people with Go-Pros flying for miles off mountains.....wow. I'd never do that, I'll watch forever. Unfortunately, one of the best died last year, obviously risky stuff.

Oh my gosh, I swim, ride a bicycle, crochet, take LOTS of photographs, make videos, cook all kinds of ethnic foods, enjoy my bible study class, read a lot and love watching movies.

I will know I am on my way when my house is consistently clean, I am cooking, and sewing again.

I love my kids. They keep me young. People hired me to take care of their kids and they got a built in photographer. And, I got the best part of the deal. They all call me Grandma and I still get to hang out with them or they call me on the phone now.
