Could mono have been from tick bight

I was just thinking about how I may have gotten lymes and maybe it was from when i was around 9 or 10 when i got bitten by a tick; when i was around 16 i got mono. do you think there is a connection? I see a lot of stuff about ebv and lymes.

Lyme can mess with your immune system. I do know that. Many people discover that they have lyme disease because they are sick all the time.

cb - Mono is a very common virus (ebv) ...and many (most?) of us have been exposed and have it dormant in our bodies.
Some of us get sick with it...

So, lyme may have suppressed your immune system allowing mono to be activated.

I had mono in highschool it was so bad..I'm just now putting all these pieces together and I'm really sad because if I had it that long, chances are I'll never be ok again...I'm so depressed.

cb - please don't think that way.

Our Moderator, Traveler had it for 40 years...and she healed.

Unfortunately she had a tick bite after she healed.


Please don't feel that way....many people have had it chronic for a long time and go on to heal...I think the reason some people don't heal..is because they give up.
We have to persevere...continue to fight.

my lyme doc said you cannot rule out the possibility of ticks transmitting viruses as they know many do carry them, however there is not YET proof of transmission, but he believes its possibly something that will come to light with more research.
