For a while through parts of 2015 and 2016 I suddenly couldn't drink any amount at all, of any kind. I would go as close to dropping into a coma as I ever want to come.
The first time it happened I was on Flagyl, and hadn't seen the warnings. So, I quit trying and counted the days, then weeks after I stopped Flagyl, to try a bit of wine again.
Within moments of consuming just about
2 or 3 ounces of a brand that isn't even pure wine, I felt very drunk and nauseous. Concerned, I took my blood pressure and systolic was a good 30 pts below my normal.
So, I blamed my blood pressure problems, though to this day I've never checked to see if my medication for it conflicts with alcohol. I do take halves of pain meds, but am careful not to take close together.
It's been about
a year now, and I can now get away with drinking part of a can of beer with food. But no wine. And I won't even try any hard stuff.
I have never ever had a problem before then, even though I've been sick for 3 decades. Wish I knew what is going on. Internal damage to my vascular system might have something to do with it, IDK.
Ah, yeast. Wish I'd read everyone else's comments first. Still not convinced I have an overgrowth yet. Certain areas that I've had flares in back in my 20's or when on abx are not symptomatic at this time. Guess it's somewhere I don't recognize.
