Hi VeryLuckyGirl -
My opinion on tick-borne infections/diseases (TBD) is that most people carry them... Not all - but there are just too many, they're too easy to catch, there are far more endemic areas than just the northeast and upper midwest, and most people, particularly kids, are outside all the time. Some people become very ill, some people never show symptoms due to the state of health they are in when they're initially infected and a dominant immune system or just the opposite. Some ticks are particularly filthy and transmit many infections that overwhelm the immune system. There are several other reasons for why we all react so differently.
Unfortunately, the tests just don't give us good information. People generally don't treat unless symptoms pop up, which makes sense. But the absence of symptoms doesn't mean the absence of the infections. I don't have children, but if I did and there was a reason to suspect infection (either because I live in an endemic area or symptoms pop up even intermittently, or someone else close to them is infected) I would treat with herbal protocols - if not just to provoke a response (which would be more likely to give you information) - to simply cover my bases.
But back to your question -
I think you will get better input than I could give you by posting a new thread and asking that specific question. We have wonderful parents here who have treated kids and/or have done a lot of research on it.
Hope this is helpful -
