Can treatment stop working?

I have been on abx for 2 months and thought I was finally doing well. 5 days/week I take minocycline, 2 days/week tindamax, and 1 day/week fluconozale. At first my symptoms flared, then after a month they began to subside and I had more energy. Except for brain fog, I felt pretty good for about 3 weeks and now my symptoms are returning.

Is it normal to swing back and forth between feeling better and having symptoms? Or, do I need to switch up my treatment to continue making progress? Figures I had a follow-up with my doctor when I was feeling pretty good.

Yes, symptoms can wax and wane - you mentioned 3 weeks...Lyme flares can be 3-4 weeks because of their life-cycle.

Are there any plans in the future to target the confections?

Apparently so. On top of what Girlie said, I learned that last year when my Dr. gave me an LLMD protocol abx list.
Each one had an average success rate percentage given, and then before each progressive abx type or method it began with "go to" or "try".

It also mentions plateauing and moving on. I may be wrong but I think part of this is trying to keep up with the 'hide and seek' game the bacteria plays when it's under attack.

I tested negative for co's through Quest except for mycoplasma Pneumoniae and my doc is not treating that; he said it can show up a year after having walking pneumonia or something similar (I was never dx with walking pneumonia, but quite possible I had it). He didn't retest co's through another lab because he said those tests are even more inaccurate than those to test for Lyme.

Is this something I should address with my doctor to see about switching up my meds or should my current meds continue to kills off the Lyme from a new life cycle? Thanks!! ☺️

My doctor told me to expect these ups and downs, especially early on. He said that hopefully each "down" won't be as bad as the previous one.

Your Dr. is right about the testing being even more inaccurate than the lyme tests.

But, the possibility of co-infections do need to be considered - at some point. Some LL Dr.'s treat them quite early on...my LL Dr. did not. I did an entire year of antibiotics for Lyme before starting Bartonella treatment.
I think that was much too long...I wish we would have targeted Bartonella after 4 or 5 months (tops).

I was wondering how your detoxing is going? What all do you do for detoxing?

Plateauing is something that we all need to be concerned with, and if you are truly in a plateau, then you will have to switch abx - but if it's a detox problem, switching abx won't change a thing.

Check your symptoms against symptoms lists to see what other infections you may have. Sometimes a co-infection has to be treated first, then the Lyme.

Thanks everyone for the input!

Traveler, I'm taking NAC daily to help with detox. When my symptoms flare, I'll do an Epsom salt and lavender oil soak. My symptoms have not returned as intensely as they were before, but I don't want to get back to that point. Good suggestion to check a symptom chart for co's.

Girlie, if I would do testing for co's through a better lab like Igenex or MDL, will the abx I've been taking for 2 months skew the results?

It is usual to have those ups and downs. If you think it is not working at all, than you may ask your doctor to change your protocol. There are many abx combos and each combo works differently on different persons.
