Well I just switched from 3 months of Sage Tinctures to Hawaii Pharm Tinctures. Now for the past 3 months I have possibly done tinctures all wrong IF so, might explain the complete lack of any positive response from over a hundred pills and all these tinctures per day. Due to the insane numberof pills I also have to take daily, I always mixed all my tinctures into a tall glass full of 12-16 ounces of tap water.
I know it says to just use 3 or 4 ounces but as I said, I added more to help swallow so many pills. Is this a big error in some way? Can this cause the tinctures to not be as effective, or not at ALL effective?
I ask since these from Hawaii Pharm seem to taste VERY-VERY weak or mild like watered down booze in comparison to Sage brand. And I sort of expected it to taste stronger since Hawaii Pharm is made 3:1 alcohol whereas Sage is only 5:1 mix.
So this is my big tech question of the day since I now added back in Eleuthero since when dropping it I just can't stay awake the past 6 weeks since. And I also added in Red Root for the first time into the pot so have these 2 PLUS my good old
- Japanese Knotweed
- Cats Claw
- Houttuynia
- Andrographis
And I take it all mixed together in a single glass. Is my taking it this way, incorrect and does it weaken it's efficacy?
Aer you sure you're printing the Sagewoman ratio's correctly? I just picked up my bottle of JK from them, to see what it said, and it is listed as 1:5 ratio, which is one part herb to 5 parts alcohol.
Logic tells me that the amount of water you put it in makes no difference, since it's an inert ingredient.
As for combining everything, unless there are recommendations to any of them to be taken under certain directions, such as timing it away from one of the others, dumping them in together is ok too. I do my puny little counts of Milk Thistle and JK in a ounce of something at the same time, and chug it back.
Another thought. I'm sure the reputable herb and tincture sources are as careful as they can be about
testing herb strengths before converting, based on their own sources of herb, but without centralized testing labs in place, each 'mfg' is going to have stronger or weaker herbs to start with, depending again, on their source and other factors.
