Even with Lyme, Active Release Techniques will make your carpel tunnel symptoms better. You will re-gain hand control and the electric nerve zaps will go away, maybe not 100% with lyme, but very noticeable improvements.
www.activerelease.com/find-a-provider.aspI post this often, because it works. The hands on technique vitalizes tendons by pressured circulation which in turn starts the natural healing process, and swelling goes down by itself, resulting in less pain.
Its usually younger more
open minded chiropractors and some hands on PT's who do this- and many times if you have chiro covered insurance, its covered.
Occupational therapists are the PT's that work on hands and arms, some look for and treat trigger points too, which may be responsible for nerve impingement.
Some people might think since lyme is responsible, this cant work. Fact is, it does work.
Lyme upsets the chemical balance in our tissues and nerves. This hands on work is more aggressive than basic massage and gets circulation going which is what the tissues need. Your limb tissues are currently being starved of nutrients from the chemical imbalance from lyme.......thus the discomfort.
Its really a bio-chemistry, mechanics, plumbing dysfunction for lack of better terminology LOl.........
NOTE: Orthopedic doctors are usually of minimal help in this area. I went to one for my shoulder and mentioned lyme. To my surprise he understood what we go thru! He thinks active release is pretty awesome and was sorry I had to go somewhere else to get this. I did get dry needling at his clinic- it did not work. So I wasted time with him, but it was good to hear he was and
open mined ortho - very rare in my experience.
