Now that winter is here i was gunna try a tetracycline ...however i came upon the study and saw wiki said mino makes als patients worse ..is this propaganda ..or should i care ...? I think the same is said for doxy ...? I also cant really handle anymore dizziness or vertigo ...could help my rmsf and bart ...thoughts ideas ...what herbally can i do for rmsf ...?

I haven't looked this, but I do know that ANYONE can edit Wiki pages, so while I do use it from time to time for informational leads, I would never fully trust any information on a wiki page without lots of reliable sources backing it up.

I wouldn't necessarily trust Wikipedia, either. In fact my brother showed me how easy it was to edit, and add information in.

I just glanced at these articles.

Oh my gosh, lol. I am so disillusioned now! Now I'm embarrassed that I've quoted from it.

I mean, what's the point? I always thought that it somehow only accepted factual updates. Have I ever mentioned how gullible I am? Long held trait, unfortunately.

ETA: Traveler, what did you edit/update? I want to go read it. I have no doubt you were factual.

I am like the Princess and the pea with meds. If there is a side effect I WILL have it. I was never dizzy on Doxcy. It did all types of other things but never dizzy.

My son just began Mino. and he so far no dizzy spells either. He is also sensitive.

Hope our very small, yet sensitive, sampling is some help to you.

I had dizziness on mino, but not on doxy.

mino penetrates blood brain barrier better...so that contributes to dizziness.

"Microglial activation is thought to contribute to the progression of selective motor neuron death during amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). As minocycline has been shown to inhibit microglial activation, the therapeutic efficacy of this tetracycline derivative in the G93A mice model for familial ALS was tested. This drug with proven safety delayed disease onset and dose-dependently extended the survival of the G93A mice. At 120 days of age, minocycline protected mice from loss of motor neurons and from vacuolization. These results demonstrate that interference with immuno-inflammatory responses has a beneficial effect in the ALS mice model, suggesting this to be a potential new strategy to treat ALS."

One needs to go to google scholar and put ALS and minocycline and one gets so many results positive studies

Agreed, sorry, Blue!!!

And yes, it's raining down here too (at least we got here before it started though!) - and I agree, not the best combination with hunting season!!! Hunters are busy looking for signs of deer! If they would drive my road just after dark, they'd get one! I saw a big buck on my way out last week,and 4 does on the way back in. They were sure pretty!!
