Tinidazole and GSE at the same time?

After one month on Doxy + Rifampin and another on Azithromycin + Rifampin (and Buhner during the day) my Bart/Lyme symptoms have almost gone, so I've asked my doc to add 2 weeks worth of Tindamax after which I plan to drop abxes altogether and stay on herbs only.
Last couple weeks I was doing 3x10 drops of GSE though the day, but now I'm not sure if I should temporary stop it while on Tindamax or continue as before.

Was anyone in the similar situation before?

I have used both GSE and Tini together and had no issues.

GSE also helps to control Candida.

I haven't had a similar situation, but I think you'll be just fine with the GSE - it is also good as a cyst buster.

Please don't take GSE while on Tinidazole.

GSE strongly inhibits the CYP3A4 enzyme, while Tinidazole is a CYP3A4 substrate.

This means that GSE has the potential to greatly limit how much Tinidazole your liver metabolizes, thus increasing blood levels beyond what you think you're dosing.

Furthermore, if your GSE is an alcoholic tincture, you'll want to stop it to avoid a nasty reaction. Tindamax and Flagyl are two medications that you need to steer 100% clear of alcohol with to avoid nasty side effects.

Alcohol with Tini or Flagyl MAY cause nasty side effects (an antibuse type reaction), but not all people are effected.

Grapefruit in general does effect lots of meds.

I'm only sharing my experience with the two together. When I started GSE in April 2013 I was on Zithromax, IV Rocephin (2x/4 days/wk), Actigall, Mepron x2, Bactrim DS, and pulsing Tindamax two days a week, but getting blood work done every other week.

That's a good point, but on the other hand Rifampin is a strong CYP3A4 inducer

Doctors who prescribe Rifampin with drugs like Biaxin and Tindamax have a lot of experience with it though, and hopefully understand the interactions.

They usually prescribe them together because from their clinical experience, they've experienced positive results from certain medications working together.

I think so, too, MS. The good benefits must outweigh the bad effects.

The bart guru's 'recipe' is Rifampin and biaxin.

Yup, it's my LLMD's go-to as well.

And hey, I'm on Tindamax too, and a whole wack-load of P450 herbs, so I'm not sure I should be one to give advice on this stuff :p

A few months ago - I got all concerned with the P450 interactions...and had this schedule all laid out - this was when i was pulsing the Rif and biaxin (or was it mino?) - and on those days I didn't take the herbs...so there wasn't an interaction...
...and I was doing rounds of Artemisinin - and it's on my 450 'list' as well. So on those days - I had a different schedule...

it was complicated...there is no way I could work at my job taking these meds/herbs shocked
