Merry Christmas to y'all! My blessings to you. Wish y'all much health and strength!

I have a question about foot baths. I am very challenged at detoxing, but I am thinking of buying a foot bath to try out and get rid of toxins (whole body baths make me feel worse). Does anyone do foot baths? Can you recommend something? Thank you!

Tepid, I do not use anything fancy for foot bathing. It's the epsom salts and what I put in the water that make the impact on me. So, I actually use one of those small plastic tubs you get during a hospital stay.

As long as it is big enough for your feet, and deep enough to cover them with water without slopping, it should do the trick.

Cool, guys, thank you! Does the water have to be filtered? I don't have a filter in the bathroom. Would that make a huge difference?

That depends on what's in your water. Remember, your skin will absorb things too.

I use foot baths only as well because full body soaks make me herx pretty hard. I do as Julymorning described, just a tub big enough for my feet, enough warm water to cover the tops of my feet, Epsom salt and peroxide, and soak for 10 - 20 minutes.

Ack, I don't even know what's in my water. I live in a house that isn't my own, we just rent there, so we can't really put in filtration systems all around. However, I have an idea. I have a standalone filter, I can just boil the water from the filter. Just bought a bucket for the feet at Amazon =).

I also do foot bath, as I cannot do entire body. I think they are neneficial. The best for me is Epsom salt and keep my feet there for 30 minutes.

How much epsom salt and how much hydrogen peroxide do you use for footh soak? Is it safe to do it everyday? I've been doing epsom salt soak once a week and always felt much better after it so maybe it's worth do try it more frequently.

I think you can do the foot soak every day with no herxing problems. There is a formula, but off the top of my head I can't remember...it's in the de-toxing section of our "new to Lyme" topic.

I don't measure, but guestimate to 1 gallon of water 2 cups of epsom salts and 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide. That may be on the light side, but it's one of those small hospital tubs they send home with you.

I do them 2x a day for my son and myself. Nowhere near 2 cups of salts though. More like 1/2 cup of lavender sleep salts and essential oils in the hottest water we can muster. I just use a very big bowl.

A little advance warning Yellow Cat, and this applies to the OP tepidautumn as well. If you like very hot water...Lyme bacteria hate it, and it could make you have a herx, yes even with just a foot soak, so you might want to start with warm water at first to avoid a massive die off.

I want to mention something. If you have gotten yourself a natural bristle brush for dry skin brushing, give your feet a few minutes of circular brushing before the soak, that way you're not trying to de-tox through a lot of dead skin cells.
