Anyone have experience with EBV?

They apparently go together--chicken or egg (there's a pun in there somewhere, as it is from the chicken pox/shingles, etc family). I had off the charts EBV readings at one time & when that went on too long, other areas were explored. So what triggers or just comes out due immune system hit, is the question. But I believe once the main infection, say LD, is treated, it will begin to heal the EBV (?).

I've lived with EBV for many decades now - it was my very first chronic infection diagnosed nearly 25 years ago. My results were literally off the charts back then.

I have found in my experiences with it, that it leads to greater fatigue and a greater much longer time to heal from small wounds - like scratches and stuff.

I use high dose lysine to help keep it under control, because it's the intake of arginine that can set off EBV, and lysine uses the same pathway, so if it's taking in enough lysine, essentially, there's no room for the arginine to be used. Antivirals like valacyclovir are also effective though.

And that's not the only reason to stop playing rough with the cat = Bartonella.

I had similar numbers and I thought I had EBV...but my doctor clarified that the numbers were spiked for "IGG" vs. "IGM"-just like yours-which indicates I had a past infection, not a present one.

EBV can be reactivated when a pathogen like lyme disease enters the host and compromises it including the immune system. This is exactly what happened to my wife it also caused adrenal fatigue. In such cases you can't treat them serially you must treat them in parallel. This mix of issues can take a long time to heal my wife is 7 months in and she's made zero progress.

My LLMD told me this specifically " Regarding the EBV titers, there is a crossover reactivity between lyme and Epstein Barr – the testing does not necessarily suggest active infection of Mono." Has anyone else been told something similar? My numbers were very similar to Mom of 2

LOL!! Yep, I've been told that by enough doctors anyway!! Sad truth, they didn't know what they were talking about then either. I was a single mom of 2 at the time - being lazy is not a choice at that point. LOL!!
