Katebirch, yes tight heavy chest can def be babesia. I have Lyme, babesia microti and Rocky Mountain spotted fever. My breathing has been my biggest issue. (Stopped breathing too many times, have to tell myself to breath). Took me 2 years off insisting, arguing with doctors and doing my own detective work to finally get a dx. Still can't breath right but it has improved some. Still feel like I'm in the dark trying to fight an invisible monster.
Have you found yourself breathing very shallowly when you aren't active, and sometimes just not really wanting to breath at all, then suddenly a sort of gasp comes out and your lungs inflate?
I've had to try to learn how to breathe properly all over again, but I still don't do it, because my chest doesn't want to expand.
I do wheeze though sometimes now, because I have chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
