You are the sweetest to be thinking about my son's symptoms. Thank you. I want to read the link but unfortunately can't open it, nor paste it. I'll keep trying.

Thank you. He never had the cough before starting treatment, that I can remember. His LLMD thinks he has Babesia but he didn't test positive for it. I'm not convinced it isn't something else.

We are both getting tested for myco, C. Pneumonia, mold, the gene that keeps you from detoxing and something else. Basically whatever YOU guys suggest - LOL.

I can't get the link to work either.

However, google "public health alert kpu hpu" and that should bring you to the article.

FWIW - we went down the HPU/KPU pathway, and it didn't appear to be the solution to our healing problems. But it certainly is interesting.

Thank you so much. What a fascinating piece of the puzzle. Although healing it sounds awful. What else is new!

I will look into it. I'm also calling Hansa today.

My son has been having a hard time. He is now having trouble sleeping and is afraid to go to sleep. Has anxiety attacks and irrational fears.

I went for a walk yesterday, for one hour. I walk slowly these days! I came home and he as quietly crying. He said he thought that I had died and he was all alone. He also does not want to leave the apartment.

At night he cries a lot. He said he has this recurring thought (not a dream, a waking thought), where he drifts out to sea all alone and dies. (We scuba dive and he loves it and is an advanced scuba diver).

He also won't be in his room alone. He always wants to be in the living room or wherever I am. It is like he is regressing. I suppose he is feeling vulnerable.

Then I am wired at night worried about him. Even though I don't think I'm worried, my mind has other ideas at 2:00am.

Hi Huddie, It's funny that I came upon this today because since starting up antibiotics, my older daughter has developed a dry cough and a bit of chest tightness/pain. It occurs mostly at night but she's pretty vocal about it when it occurs. As you may recall, she tested positive for two strains of Babesia as well as Mycoplasma Pneumonaie and I was completely surprised by those results. I did not expect Babesia and well I thought everyone had Mycoplasma Pneumonae but her doctor thought it was an important finding. So I was pretty impressed when her symptom after treatment seemed remniscent of both of those findings.

I'm sorry your son is having such a hard time with all this...he doesn't seem to catch a break.

BTW, I posted last year (eg few months ago?) about Kid#2 developing a lingering cough that I felt wasn't a virus. It seemed like a new symptom. It was just an annoying cough... not debilitating. But it was new to us, so it had me wondering! I also developed air hunger for the first time too. Fortunately, it did not last long for me (it's a horrible feeling). I don't know how people live day in and day out with the air hunger!

Well it's sounding like coughing and air hunger are the symptoms to have!

I just want us ALL to heal.

Just found out have Babesia felis (from a cat?). Will go research.

I doing all herbs and homeopathics. Not going back on abx.

I will see how my son does on his second eight-week abx. run. If no progress I'm taking him to Hansa.

Hope you guys and the kids feel better soon!

Interesting - I didn't think there was a particular strain of Babs from a cat.
Well, isn't that just peachy...been a cat lover/owner all my life...I knew bartonella was what they could pass on.

I guess any animals that could of had bug bites could pass any of these co-infections on to us.


I hope your son does better on this next set of abx. Poor guy.

That is what she said, that a mosquito could have bitten a cat... we don't have a cat and there are no cats by us so it's odd. It could also be old. I grew up with cats. Who knows anymore.

My goal is to build up an immune system so strong that I just keep everything in remission.

She also said I have old pneumonia (but some Lyme type forget the name). I have never had pneumonia symptoms in my life. Weird.

This is what Google brought up: I have traveled a bit but never to Africa.

GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION: Reports of feline babesiosis due to Babesia felis are restricted almost exclusively to Zimbabwe and South Africa (Futter and Belonje, 1980a). The original isolate from a sudanese wild cat was established experimentally in domestic cats (Davis, 1929).

HAZARDS TO HUMANS: Although humans have been infected with species of Babesia these have been felt to be mainly of bovine and murine types. None have been considered as being due to Babesia felis.

Chlamydia pneumonia?

Well, a mosquito could bite you after it's bitten a cat who has it from another mosquito...or tick.
