Ayelett, I use the Japanese Knotweed tincture, and have been for about
3 months. I have been quite happy that it has calmed inflammations enough throughout my body that I am taking about
half as much pain medication.
I know that there are claims it has other beneficial qualities, but the pain relief for me is the most obvious.
It does have a strong taste, and for me taking it in a tincture that contains alcohol, there is that taste to contend with too. I put my tinctures in a small amount of whatever beverage I'm drinking and chug it down.
Also, I've suggested to many to plug their nose first, whatever way you can, because smell has a lot to do with taste, and does work considerably.
Welcome, by the way! Please, as one of our new members, take the time to read over our intro "New to LYme?....start here", which is the top of our topics list.
It's also advisable for some that have adverse reactions to this and any herb is to start at a lower than recommended dose and titter up as you are tolerating it.
ETA, I've found that just about
any form of ginger will calm nausea. I had a great deal of it while on Doxy antibiotic and was able to rely on ginger nearly every day.
Some people encapsulate the powders so that they can be swallowed down quickly. Seems like a lot of work to me, especially if you have shaky hands, but at least you won't taste it.
