Do you need to wean off Valtrex? Are there withdrawal symptoms?

My llmd wanted me to stop taking Valtrex over the summer since I had been on it for over a year. Back then I had stopped cold turkey and also started something new at the same time. Dumb move. My nerve pain and tingling went thru the roof. I wasnt sure which caused it so went back on Valtrex and stopped the new herb. Now i am trying to wean off Valtrex again and cut down to half dose. Once again my nerves are flared big time and very sensitive to cold. Just wondering if this could be from withdrawal or if it is the Valtrex that was actually keeping my nerves calmed doen. Suggestions?

I was on the generic version. I had no issues taking it or coming off of it. Maybe try l-lysine and/or lauricidin/monolaurin?

I've been taking l-lysine and coconut oil to keep things in check. Not sure what the optimum dose for l-lysine is though.

The llmd who prescribed it (for ebv), prescribed 1000mg 3 x day. I have only been taking 2x day and cut to 1 x this wk. i am no linger with that llmd. I also took 1 Licorice Root Plus last sunday to address adrenal fatigue. So i am also wondering if that is the culprit, but woukd think it would have calmed down by now if that was the case.
