Buhner, MCBAR or Antibiotics for bart?

I am fairly certain I've had bartonella for the past two years. I've never had a positive bart test but it's been borderline and based on my research bart is hard to detect. Is this accurate? My main sxs are chest burning, palpations, shin/calve and foot pain, jaw pain, fatigue, and generally feeling like something is slowly killing me!

3 weeks ago I tried 1 drop of a-bart two days in a row and within 2 days went into the worse herx of my life. I was in a seizure like state, sweating uncontrollably, panic attacks, light/sound sensitivity, unable to walk more than a block, I could barely talk my jaw hurt so much etc. I was horrified and I am still suffering residual effects. The only other time I've felt similar was when I tried a 4 day zpack last year. Since both target bart I am thinking this is even more evidence bart is a major problem for me. Prior to trying a-bart I was operating at about 75%, exercising most days, etc.

I really need some guidance as to what protocol to try next. Is Buhner easier to tolerate than antibiotics? I feel as if Buhner's protocol may give me more flexibility moving at my own pace versus antibiotics. MCBAR-1 I was able to tolerate last year so does it make sense to re-start instead? Based on my research MC-BAR doesn't seem to eradicate bart . Is this true?

OR should I just try abx again and push through (maybe rifampiin + zith comb)?

As far as detox, always room for improvement but I am taking charcoal, the pekana detox kit, infared suana and my llmd wants me to start colonics next week!

You need to decide whether you want abx or herbs.
Both routes are good and you can have success.
However, bear in mind that Bartonella is difficult to eradicate and that it also requires long term treatment, just like Borrelia.

Thanks all . Although I'd like to believe I have more control using herbs...my a-bart reaction scared the hell out of me. I'd like to be somewhat functional during a herx. I have to keep my job. Not sure where to go from here...

Do you detox well? It can help you tremendously when herxing.

i love cumanda it's a potent anti-fungal and also highly effective against lyme. apparently it hits bart as well.

best combo if you ask me for bartonella is rifamycin (rifampin or rifabutin) and either minocycline or bactrim. i'm doing all 3 and i think i'm hitting bart but could just be lyme as there is major symptom overlap.

i think herbs are definitely easier on the body than abx esp if you're on them long term. i worry about fungal problems with long term abx use.

Thanks all for the feedback . The a-Bart herx was so severe I don't think I'll go near that stuff again. I don't want to prevent a herx persee but this was like near seizure unable to shower type herx. It's been nearly 4 weeks and I'm still out of it . I'm afraid Buhner may have similar effects but I tend to read people do better on it so maybe I'll try . I think grape seed I'm okay with ... that was in mcbar which I did fine on.

My concern w buhner though is it may take too much time to introduce all the herbs and build up and as such my infection is getting out of control. Before a-Bart I wasn't on a Bart specific treatment for 10 months and part of me thinks this is why I herxed so badly. Maybe I need to take a leave from work and just go hard on Bart Abx? Or is the goal to find a treatment that keeps me functional? My fear is I'll keep searching for this functional treatment and never get better. Maybe I just need to bite the bullet , go on disability and fight this .

I honestly feel like I do have a detox issue but they've checked me for all the genes and I'm fine . I think I'm just super sensitive . This Lyme stuff is so confusing .

The goal would be to keep you from herxing seriously - so base your decision on that more is what I'd say.

I'd' also go so far as to say that the infection is completely uncontrolled now, so building up slowly would give you a slowly built up attack plan, one that you can tolerate. I don't think you can build very slowly on abx or any "premixed" herbal anything - and this is where Buhner's protocol would be better - but, the choice is yours - of course. I'm only pointing out some things based on what you've said so far.

With Buhner's, it's not like you don't get any help from the herbs until you are on full doses. Most find that as they ramp up their doses slowly, they begin to feel better before they reach full doses. It just isn't effective at clearing the infection until you are up to full doses.

Hi all. Still feeling so discouraged. Since trying the two drops of a-bart and glutathione IVs I have not returned to baseline. I am functioning at about 50%. Before trying a-bart I was at about 75-80%. A few weeks ago I also tried ALA ( 15mg every 3 hours for 72 hours as per andy cutler heavy metal chelation protocol) and this caused SEVERE fatigue. I tried it because I figured if lyme detox was my issue the ALA would have helped and since it made me feel worse I'm thinking heavy metals really may be at play.

In any case, I am scared to do anything right now. I can barely work the fatigue is so crushing. Should I wait until I get back to 75-80% before pursing anything else? My biggest symptoms are fatigue, calve and foot pain, jaw pain and just feeling toxic/ sick. Thanks.
