Are extremly vivid dreams a symptom of lyme disease or any of coinfections? Do they ever go away?

I have always had very vivid dreams, but they have been more indicative of stress throughout my life. And actually the sicker I am, the less I remember dreaming. But my "sick" issues recently involve night hypoxia so that might explain not being aware of dreaming.

the lyme fully took over my brain when i was sixteen, the weird thing is im 24 now and my dreams are still of me in highschool with the same friends that i surrounded myself with back then, it's like my brain hasn't processed that so many years have gone passed i think its from lack of R.E.M sleep

Sometimes when im stressed out, too much computer, strenuous exercise my dreams become really vivid, sometimes gruesome and dark and scary.

Ive also had moments were i cant move, more so if im laying on my back and i'll have what seems like a spirit attach themselves to me, and whisper in my ear, so before i got my pineal gland removed i was scared to go to sleep because of this

You aren't new to Lyme of course, but there is still much information there that is valuable to healing.

Hi Speedyka, Dreams: Most of my life I had active dreaming. However I realized about 1 yr. ago I wasn't having dreams anymore. A few weeks ago after switching ABX to Zithromician and Malorone my dreams came back ,only they were much more vivid and strange.

This week they have settled down to more normal ones now. So I wondered did Lyme actually stop my dreams and now after beginning treatment in September they have finally come back due to slowly improving in health. Weird.

Hope your dreams settle down too so they don't bother you anymore. Sincerely Jo

Can anyone lucid dream here? and how has lyme affected there ability to do so?

I don't know if there is any science behind this, but sometimes I get the idea that something in these infections touch off certain areas of memory.

Most of the time though, my dreams and nightmares are usually tied up in issues that are or have, bothered me a great deal. Current and long unresolved.

I have never, ever, had a good dream involving my Mother, for instance. They have all been bad in some way. And she passed 10 years ago!

Dreams are odd things, for sure. Always been fascinated by them.

My dreams stopped when I got lyme disease.


When they came back, I was relieved. I don't think I was even getting a proper sleep early on.

i actually spent 2 hours writing down my story and i tried posting it and it didnt post :/ haha i feel like ive wasted 2 hours of my life, then i just think to myself ive been in this bed for almost a year i have plenty of time, i'll doit tomorrow night when i muster up the energy smile

Everyone always suggests typing this into a computer notepad and hit "save" several times. I think an even better way, easier, is to type it out in your email program, as if you're going to send it to someone.

If something goes wrong, and with me that's a daily thing that I hit the wrong key, everything you've written so far is in your "Drafts" file! So you can even walk off and pick it up later!

From there it's just a matter of copy and paste when you're done.

I can only remember 1 dream/nightmare since the lyme disease manifested. I have read that vivid dreams can be part of lyme

Hi Hentah1, Im new here but Hiya.

It's funny you brought up dreams. I've always been a dreamer but lately the dreams are really strange. Not angry but just off the wall and sometimes just a collage of completely unrelated things.
I'm only in my 3rd month of all these drugs so I thought it had to do with them or maybe that I finally have started to get some real sleep lately.
The fragmented stuff makes me think all the years of being sick and not sleeping has been unlocked and I'm finally processing tons of stuff.
I could do without that. I'd be perfectly happy just moving forward with new fresh dreams i think.

I still dream. Not as much but I often wakeup having been in a nice dream. By nice I mean before Lyme. I am always healthy, vibrant, laughing, surrounded by friends, then I wake up yeah
