Very disappointed with LLMD visit..

I had my appointment yesterday. Are all llmd's homeopathic? Because when I left yesterday I cried almost the whole 2 hour drive because I thought I finally found what was wrong with me.. but I was completely scammed at a 700$ visit. The first doctor had me touch different vials of "bacteria" and had me touch 2 fingers together saying if he could pull them apart easily then whatever was in the vial I was touching was in my body. He pretended to try and pull them apart on many but actually just kinda squeezed my fingers.. but on lyme and thyroid pretended it was easy for him. Then had me hold iodine to my thyroid and try again and it was hard again... I knew right then that he was full of it. The second dr had pretty much the same thing but a computer hooked to a pen she touched to pressure points and turned the pen different ways to get different sounds. The 3rd and last doctor had me lay down and test how strong my muscles were by pushing or pulling against him. Oh he had "lyme in a bottle" too. I don't understand what this whole magic trick stuff was but it was VERY discouraging. Do all LLMD do this type of thing? I'm supposed to go next week for a "report of findings" so they can tell me what supplements and remedies to use. I thought you need antibiotics?? He says iodine is what I will need bc it's natural antibiotic. Okay. I'll try what they suggest bc I am desperate to feel better but I am so upset with the first visit and approach

Sadly, there are "doctors" who try to take advantage of people most desperate for answers. Keep looking. There are plenty of good Lyme docs out there. Where are you located?

I'm so sorry with how you're feeling. It is a discouraging process, but don't give up! The mods here have a list of LLMDs. Oh psh I can help you with that. If you have an email posted I'll send you an excellent LLND/LAc in Roswell. Of the twenty plus docs I've been to he is by far the best. Don't be put off by the label. He works closely with an MD so he's really flexible with treatment options. If not you can probably email girlie as I just gave it to her

I'm sorry this happened to you. FWIW I go to a highly regarded LLMD in Manhattan who also does the muscle testing. I believe in this so I was an easy patient. My husband is a complete skeptic but it worked.

Obviously he also does deep lab testing and believes in ABX (herbs too) he's open.

I asked how much faith he puts in the muscle testing/vials/contraption and he said he honestly finds it more accurate than a lot of lab testing.

So don't discount it just yet. Either way I hope you find some answers and comfort soon.

Nope not all LLMD's are homeopaths but many of them are. Only a few seem to practice both.

Muscle testing can produce valid results but that other stuff sounds like quackery to me.

Iodine is a very powerful natural remedy for dealing with pathogens like lyme and co-infections but its only one tool in the bag. Lets see what they come back with it might be a combination of herbs, other stuff with iodine (DMSO, CBD oil, etc.) but before you close the book on them see what they say.

What I've found is that it really depends on who is doing the muscle testing. There are some real quacks out there. Now, you say that this doctor is a LLMD. I would say, wait until you get the treatment plan and decide from there. You don't know yet, what they may recommend. Maybe muscle testing is how they begin and then do other "real" testing from there for treatment and make monitoring.

I would have a list of questions though for the next appointment. I'm curious as to what the cost of the next appointment will be? Personally, I don't see why you have to wait to get your report. That $700.00 more than paid for it. See if you can get that report of findings before your appointment, for your review.

Part of me is thinking that your next view of this doctor, should be in the rear view mirror of your car (sigh).

I have had muscle testing and the Electrodermal Testing (EDT). I have had both of them prove amazing things to me. But, both were done by very well recommended people. My acupuncturist and my herbalist use those methods and have been spot on.

I did EDT way before I ever got lyme. Spring would come and he could tell me exactly what plant was giving me trouble and then he gave me the antidote. Amazing, truly amazing.

Just to add in here - I know people that have done Classical Homeopathy and healed from these infections. It's best not to discount any form of what is known as "alternative" medicine - although not all forms of medicine work for every person with these infections. The problem will be with the practitioner, not the form of medicine used usually.

A reaction on Band 23 from a Quest test is a good sign that you likely have these infections. Quest and Labcorp are not "good" labs for this sort of testing.

Keep asking questions!!! That's how we learn!
