I just saw the results of my last labs at the LLMD. My HS CRP was 4.1 (range is <1) and my iodine was a bit low (48 and range is 52-109). I'm not familiar with the HS CRP test and all I find for it has to do with cardiac and stroke conditions. Three months ago I saw a cardiologist who did tons of testing on me (no bloodwork though) because I have hyperPOTS, and nothing was abnormal.

Do others have elevated HS CRP with lyme as well or would this be for an unrelated condition?

I did find this: "The hs-CRP test accurately detects lower levels of the protein than the standard CRP test and is used to evaluate individuals for risk of cardiovascular disease. It measures CRP in the range from 0.5 to 10 mg/L." (/labtestsonline.org/understanding/analytes/crp/tab/all/)

So, maybe it was used to just test for those 'lower levels'? Have you talked to your LLMD about this yet? Or the doctor that ordered this test? I would think they would at least be able to express why they ordered that one instead of the 'regular' CRP.

Hopefully others that have had the HS CRP done will chime in soon!

Right after dx. .. my bloodwork showed me at 0.7 quest test. That was a good number. Probably the only good number i had. LOL

Weird because high numbers over 10 indicate infection and inflamation, which is why the test got ordered I guess.,,,,or so it says on the test printout

And yes it appears have something to do with cardio health.

Before my diagnosis, the only thing that was out of range was my CRP. It was 12.3.

When I first got sick my hscrp was very high 21.9. No one knew what was wrong with me. The primary care dr sent me to cardiologist who found nothing wrong with me. No blockages in heart which is a good thing. Then I developed more symptoms and started to suspect tick related illness. Found a llmd and they say it's a marker of inflammation and it should come down with treatment.

I saw the PA at my LLMD's today and she said the HS CRP looks for inflammation...although it can't pinpoint the organ the inflammation is, it does detect inflammation in the body so they check that for all lyme patients.
