TOOTY,
I have read a number of places that Bart flares about
every 5-7 days. I believe this stems from the info on Bartonella Quintana (aka "Trench Fever").
"The fever of trench fever is classically a 5-day fever ("quintan fever"). The onset of symptoms is sudden with high fever, severe headache, back pain and leg pain and a fleeting rash...Relapses are common."
http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=8096"[O]nset is sudden, with fever, weakness, dizziness, headache (with pain behind the eyes), conjunctival injection, and severe back and leg pains. Fever may reach 40.5° C and persist for 5 to 6 days. In about
half the cases, fever recurs 1 to 8 times at 5- to 6-day intervals."
http://www.merckmanuals.com/professional/infectious-diseases/gram-negative-bacilli/trench-fever"The disease has an acute onset, with severe headache and pretibial pain. The acute signs usually resolve spontaneously, but in some patients they may recur after about
5 days. In some patients there may be six or more recurrences of the disease (59)."
http://cvi.asm.org/content/9/1/8.fullHenselae, Quintana, Bacilliformis ect have different symptoms. I would think that various strains flare at different intervals. So, it would make sense that different people report different intervals. I was trying to find different cycles for each, but it was not easy to find this info.
I need to take another look at the different symptoms. I have some cycles I'm struggling to figure out myself. I wonder about
Brucella, but I don't see a lot of discussion. I wish testing were better. It would make everything so much easier! Bam, I have X, Y and Z. It would be so nice. :)
