H Clinic or Dr J in DC for my son? WWYD?

Another thing to mention about Dr. J's clinic that might not be well known. They have a specialist internally that will do a custom analysis on your 23andme data. I think they charge $150-$275 but apparently he can really dig into the data and pull out some nuggets.

Has anyone had this done? I was offered it but decided to hold off for now.

i think Dr. R is $1200 for an initial consult these days. He's obviously busy and would love to retire but he's a kind person and continues to treat due to the need.

I think the Pediatric Dr. J feels the same way

i did this on my own and had the mthfr.com folks do a skype consult . It was very informative...methlyatuon ,cbs ,sod . So many systems ,so many genitics try to help and suppliment but i kinda let nature take its course ..it did explain why oxidative iv were so exhausting..

huddie ...with the utmost love ..goose/ gander ! Are you going to choke down pharma or do iv . Then how can he? Dr j will use his pen because it is the only tool he knows . ..imo for the price a really good plasma rife would be a great tool for you and your son.. or do both if you got it like that ...you are between a rock and a hard place but have you read all of rowingmoms posts? (she was relentless in her quest for 5yrs using all modalities )

Did rowingmom use Rife? I didn't know that.
I think her son was on abx for almost 2 years, and then was at 80% and weaned...then on Buhner's -was it another year or two?

Blue, that's no way to speak to her, even if you did say "with the utmost love" .

Many here use/have used abx only and heal. This is a very personal choice for each and every one of us and no one here needs to be scolded for exploring or doing any treatments that are not honestly dangerous.

When I started using herbs to treat my infections, I was only the second person (Deejavu was the first), I endured what Deejavu did - harsh criticism. This was coming from the people that I had come to know and look to for help with things that no one in my 37 years on this earth had ever understood, much less being able to offer support and suggestions.

And yet it was that very choice, that I had to insist I had, that saved my life, and was why I healed.

While I (I will only speak for myself here) encourage everyone to offer kind words and suggestions, and even very gentle criticism on a person's doctor, we must never criticize choices between what would be considered safe and "normal" treatment choices. My only exception to that is when the person's life is in danger if they continue - and all I say is it may not be the way for them.

I was just saying expect the one of the best id doc in usa to use the tools that he knows, which is abx ...how we raise our kids and how we treat is as american a choice as apple pie however some in nz cant get herbs across customs, alinia cant be had in Canada(except compounded)and plasma rifes are banned in south africa.

I was the second to point to rowingmoms success who used many modalties ,which you can personally attest to .homeopathy and even herbs can be considered frequency medicine. And is looked at with critism and sceptisim also.that sounds like a topic for a new thread

huddie - i was under the impression you were asking the forum for opinions ?
And again with the utmost love i am certain you are being the best possible advocate for your sons health.there is no wrong choice and it is yours and yours alone.you mentioned in a earlier post your choice not to put him on iv abx and what ever you choose you, your hubbie and us ,hopefully will respect that. not a easy choice ...were i bella hadid$ i would do both j first then jernigan then sierra then sophia then mexico...

I would choose Dr j too. He puts his patients on a LOT of herbs too and addresses stomach (tons of diet and probiotics and supplements), and takes sleep, diet, and pain very seriously. Usually he will try to stabilize more psych symptoms, diet, sleep, and pain before starting the pulse dosing of antibiotics. Also it's only that much for the first appt cause it's a few hours long and they do a lot of testing. I think after that it gets way cheaper less than half that price. My friend sees dr j and says it costs about $2,000 a year INCLUDING the flight to D.C., hotel, and meals she lives in Colorado. She has had lyme for thirty years and after fifteen months with him she's almost symptom free. I would def do this or see the other dr j in Connecticut. It's a lot cheaper than hansa plus hansa probably won't get will in remission in one trip you'd probably have to do multiple unfortunately 😞. It's a great place but it would be ten times more expensive 😞

Huddie the buhner idea is good too. I Skype with his wife it's like $100 for an hour long phone session with her. After three weeks I'm finally starting to make progress :p
She has a four month waiting list though for new patients :/ I signed up with her back in the fall :0

1st appt: $890.00 you have to pay half when you make the appt.
2nd appt: $490 - this is 4-12 weeks after first appt.
3rd appt and thereafter $390 - this is anywhere between two-six months.

Dr. R is $950 first appointment (but you do see him) and then around $750 for 2nd and then it goes to $600 I think. But don't have to pay lodging.

Question- I know he doesn't take insurance, but can I get the abx through insurance? Right now my llmd does not take insurance but I get my abx thru CVS.

Hi, Huddie. I'm just stepping out here to wish you the best success in whatever you choose! The clinic is super expensive... we aren't privileged but after working with a fantastic LLMD, I/we needed to do something dramatic. I certainly know we chose well for us and for our situation -- My hubs and I are still doing really well. I even caught a cold/flu for the first time in uncountable years. It sucked and was awesome all at the same time... but that being said, we are still doing great.

I just wish healing for your family and don't doubt yourself. You research and make choices... and you are diligent smile

Regarding getting abx through insurance - yes you can definitely get abx from insurance from Dr. J in DC. The expense comes in when you need IV abx from what I understand.

We have had numerous insurance plans and our LLNP always says to call back if the pharmacy gives an outrageous price (like the one time we heard $1,200!!!) and they substitute another one that will usually be covered at a lower rate that will accomplish the same thing.

Cindy: I treat with Dr. J and all of my antibiotics have been covered by insurance (and I fill them at CVS too).

In addition, Dr. J's office has fought with my insurers when coverage was denied in one instance and got me covered, so I really appreciate their willingness to fight for coverage.

Thank you everyone for the concern you have shown us both. It is so appreciated. You guys are the best.

I hadn't seen some of these postings, so thank you for all input.

I am taking my son to Dr. J. (DC) on March 27. He is out of the country before that and I want my son to go on a date he can see Dr. J. - they do prescribe mostly oral abx. but are open to herbs and also suggest supplements, diet, etc... Very comprehensive appointment. It is three hours long.

JDF, very inspiring about your friend. Thank you.

Blue, I am open to mixing it all up. I don't do abx. and will only do herbs for myself. My plan is to treat my son with abx at first then switch him to herbs.

Just so you know the Rife doesn't work on everyone and can even be harmful. I see a holistic practitioner who has numerous machines, including Rife, and she will not use Rife on me nor my son. She said it is not at all right for us, we are too sensitive. I wish I knew the names of the machines we do use, they are frequency machines. One you lay down in front of and the other you sit under a heavy blanket with head piece and get attachments placed on chest/head.

Huddie there's a young woman who sees him who has a blog and she always emails you back she's really sweet her blog is willtherebecake.org. Her symptoms are different from your sons though she's one of the sickest lymies I've ever come across 😞 But she's doing awesome right now :D

CR3, You have an LLMD that is $150? Where is this magical land you speak of? I have never hard of that pricing - LUCKY. In NYC you can't even see a GP for $150.

Is he/she a pediatric Lyme DR?

He's an ENT with an allergy practice. He has been thru all the training. He follows the European protocols, which as we know has a high success rate of cures. He has his naturopath that diagnoses all the co-infections via EDS screening instead of meaningless labs. He uses antibiotics to get it under control and then switches to LDI and Desbios therapies to have the body heal itself. He is super up on Mold toxicity and protocols for that. He takes my health insurance for my visit, so out of pocket is just the homeopathic remedies and LDI shots.
