Numb, Tingly and Burning Tongue???

Not sure if I am the only one or not, but for the past month I have had a sore, tingly, burning and numb tongue. It is very uncomfortable. I started my amoxicillin about a month and a half ago. I just had bloodwork done to test my B12 and folic acid and my numbers came back above average. My GP told me to mention it to my Lyme specialist. Anyone else suffer from this annoying symptom?

Yes, the tip of my tongue was numb for about 6 years. Now it comes and goes.

Yes, I've had the sore, tingly, burning and numb tongue symptoms for four years, and the elevated B12 for five years.

Yep, burning mouth syndrome is considered 'ideopathic' but mine has improved with Lyme treatment. Also alpha lipoic acid helps some people.

I have the same thing. It's been like this for some time now.

I even get little bumps on the inside of my lips that come and go.

Do others with lyme disease have experience with burning tongue?

I am beginning to wonder if some people that think they only have burning tongue or burning mouth actually have lyme disease. Anxiety and depression are strongly associated with burning tongue and i wonder if the whole thing isn't some lyme bacteria left in the brain. i guess taking cat's claw and japanese knotweed (one or both of these pass the blood brain barrier or a drug that passes he blood brain barrier like alinia will let you know if you have the bacteria.

Hi I also had similar mild sensation in tongue, not burning but like tingling/neuro type symptom, but had loss of taste also for about 6 months before knowing I had Lyme.

It has improved over the last 3 months with ABX and Buhner protocol.

My tongue is tingly too and sometimes numb. Also the last time my B12 was checked it was well above the range.

Ive had tingling of the left side of my tongue...not often..definitely from the infections (neurolyme or bart?}

huh. I had a burning tongue for a while, and I just assumed it was a yeast infection. I had one on the other end, I figured it was wide-spread Candida from all the abx. It's cleared up and doesn't come back. Now I do get a numb tongue from Mepron...

I currently am having a slight tingling sensation in the far rear/back of my tongue. I recently developed a bad case of dry/cotton mouth after starting a new prescription refill (Levothyroxin) Researched that Levo can be produced at numerous facilities. Conferred with my Dr., Agreed with me ordered another Levo prescription from a different facility. Improved my dry mouth completely but after about 3 weeks, developed this tingly tongue. I find that by brushing my teeth and tongue more often, this greatly helps me.
