Ok..I've been seeing my llmd since November 2015. He started me on Azith and Bactrim and I got SO much worse. I joined this forum and you ladies gave me helpful detoxing tips. I started them and it really never made a differencr. My doctor then took me off the meds in March for a month. I took advantage and detoxed dextoxed detoxed. Although some symptoms subsided I still didn't feel good. He then put me on Ceftin in April 2015 I had to stop because of yeast issues. At this point my doctor told me he thought ldi might help out...so I've been doing the ldi (no charge) and although I'm not getting worse my symptoms are far from better. Well I've been off antibiotics for 7 months now and have terrible head pressure headaches...brain fog...weird visual issues..light sensitivity..sternum pain..numbness one side of face...the feeling of bugs crawling on me...and anxiety. The worst is the head! Well now my doctor wants me to try neurofeedback and hocatt sauna...and I'm skeptical..I don't want to spend money on something that I don't need. My husband thinks this doctor is nuts. I think I want to start herbs and go on my own...I'm scared because I have terrible health anxiety and am scared I'll get worse and have no one to go to. What herbs would you recommend to get started? So confused.

First of all, I'm so very sorry that your doctor has let you down. Unfortunately, this is not uncommon with these infections when they fail to understand that we need different things for each of us to heal - and for some, our case may just be more than they know what to do with.

I would suggest that you first decide which herbal protocol you would like to follow. I suggest Buhner's most often because it's the one I see work for people the most, but Cowden's has some really good points about it too.

If you wish to follow Buhner's, buy his books. There is so much information in there that you simply can't go wrong in buying the books. We can help you get through the information and there are herbalists that are familiar with his protocols enough to be of help, or you can make an appt with one of his 'top three' Herbalists for more guidance.

Cowden's protocol is more guided and laid out pretty well from what I understand, but it's much harder to 'individualize' than Buhner's.

Thank you 1000Daisies..I'm functional but some days are horrible(head)

I don't think my yeast issues are resolved I have white on the back of tounge. I was on a yeast medication for a month in September. When I told my doctor about my tounge he said don't look to into it😕

I totally respect my doctor for not wanting to throw me on antibiotics again.. he thinks they will hurt me more and hold up my healing process. I just am skeptical about the hocatt ozone sauna and neurofeedback. Like having this illness isn't enough we have to also find our own way of healing.

Take a look at the post on the bottom of page 2 of the "new to Lyme?" thread by Pirouette. She's dealt with significant yeast/fungal issues and has managed to heal hers.

As far as where to start, I"m of the opinion to start with whichever infection seems to be giving you the most serious symptoms, because it's usually the infection with the highest bacterial or protozoan load in the body. This is a bit of a process, but works for me and seems to work for many others. But, since you are still dealing with yeast/fungal issues -I would encourage you to start there. As Daisies said, for some, the yeast/fungal issues can stop the healing from other infections.

Will your doctor continue to see you and help you where he/she can? If so, then do continue seeing them!

I think my doctor would still see me. I haven't mentioned that I wanted to try herbs yet.
I'm going to look into Cowden and Buhner...
