Oh, my. I would slow waaaaaaaaay down. My doc wants me on 3 different abx too. Two are 4 pills a day, one is two pills a day. If I tried to start them all at once, it would probably kill me.
I literally started with one pill a day of the first abx. I did that or a week. Then I added the second. Did that for a week. Rinse and repeat until I got to the full dose. Now I'm adding the second. Going to start with one pill, wait a week, add the second, etc. Eventually I will get to the full dose of all of them. I always herx a little bit when I add a pill, but it's manageable.
When I first started, I was very gung ho and tried to go faster. Sickest I'd been since this whole mess started. Almost ended up in the ER.
The OP is seeing Dr. J. which means it won't be daily dosing. And..he usually has a schedule something like two weeks on and one week off. That makes a big difference.
But, definitely starting one at a time to make sure there's no reactions is something you should do.
And if you're not handling the one antibiotic...you can hold off until you are before adding in the second one...etc.Thank you. When you say one at a time, do you mean on the same day or working up to the dose? So far tonight I've only taken the second doxy (200). Should I stick with that or add in one of the other since I seemed to get through it pretty quickly.
Girlie, I have a lot of nerve pain also, she started me with the gaba only in evening and on the third week I added 100mg in am. After two weeks I increased the evening dose to 200. After another two weeks the am dose went to 200 also. I believe that it was so not to crush me during the day, even though I do have daytime issues with it some days. Now, my rx is for gaba 300 in am and 300-600 in pm. Next week is 300-600 in am and pm.
