So I spoke with my doctor and we are changing me to the Rifabutin and Biaxin, so not Bactrim for the bartonella. Though the pharmacy had to fill the Rifabutin so I have yet to start anything. I took a lavender Epsom salt bath last night and now this morning all of my joints hurt. It is like I am 90 years old, it hurt to drive to work. It is similar to the pain I felt before I officially got diagnosed with lyme disease. I am also nautous today and not sure if that has anything to do with my bartonella?Hands and wrists hut, shoulders, hips, legs, ankles are bad, feet... is this "normal"?

Sorry you are not feeling well. Are you detoxing enough? Maybe try some activated charcoal - that always seems to help me with herxes.

I don't have experience with epsom salt baths (I have a stand-up shower lol) but from being on here, I know they can be tricky (ie, water temp, time spent in bath, etc) I'm sure someone will be along to help with those questions.

Try some ginger tea for the nausea! It works wonders.

I never had the nausea before is that common? What about when you breathe in its painful in the back like I guess the muscles or something, I just don't know if this is all in my head or not...

Hi, sorry you're feeling so badly.

Stomach​ issues can definitely be related to bart and antibiotics can sometimes cause stomach upset.

As PPM suggested, make sure you are properly detoxing to eliminate the toxins from your body.

Hang in there and rest as much as possible.

I have exactly like you are describing. I attribute it to bart. It's not in your head. It feels to me most like a bruise.

I have not started the anitbiotics yet, I was on mino and rifabutin for 5 months and was doing great except on my period so she told me to try going off. Slowly symptoms started coming back just the joint pain in the past few days. That I did not have until I was first diagnosed with lyme. Yes the joints hurt like arthritis but the rest of the body its like its bruised and I do bruise easily. I just don't know if doing a 20 min bath yest was too much.

It's the infections "surging" - sorry I can't come up with a better word this morning!

You stopped treatments too soon -"slowly symptoms started coming back"- the bacteria don't care why, only that you did, so they are taking advantage of the situation.

Try detoxing a bit more, but it's mostly going to depend on you getting back into treatments.

I'm so sorry!!! I do hope that your abx are filled quickly!

Someone was posting about that yesterday - but it was at the tail end of a different thread, like this, so I'm not sure which thread it's in - sorry! Heck, it may have been you posting for all I can remember right now! LOL!

This can be caused by Lyme or Bart. I used to have it happen to me some, but not bad. If it's Lyme, your blood is too thick, if it's Bart, it's due to the lining of the blood vessels being inflamed. Either way it's that the blood isn't flowing like it should.

There are some herbs that will help this, or you can talk to your doctor. Something that you can do to help though is to get up and walk around more - and no more crossing your legs!

It is hard I sit at a desk for 10 horus a day and we are so busy I forget to get up, and it is so uncomfortable I have no idea what to do about my feet... sad

Can you put a little block under your desk so you can at least change the position of your legs?

Do you get penalized in some way for extra trips to the bathroom? You could raise the amount of water you are drinking so you have to visit the bathroom a little more often.

Also, talk to your doctor about this - with your work schedule, they may wish to have you using something to either combat the inflammation or thin the blood, depending on which infection is causing these issues.

I'm bad at remembering to drink water anyway.... I just came home on my break and it was the hardest drive ever. The pain the exhaustion the stomach and breathing pain.. I texted my boss that I cannot make it back. I took my temp it was 96.8 which is weirdo feel dizzy and weak but the thought of food makes my stomach ache more. Chest pain every time I breathe it's so weird like a small pain in my back and front chest I was not like this at all before hiw can just a month off antibiotics make me feel this way in just a few days too. Could it be something else? I just feel like my entire arms need a massage they are so sore and tense and painful

No, the bacteria have had a full 4 weeks to do their 'dirty work', so it's not unusual to be having these issues, although the symptoms are different for each person.

Are you still seeing your LLMD? What are they saying that you need to be doing now? When do you restart treatments? That's what's going to ultimately get those symptoms down.

I have also scheduled myself for a essential oil massage and foot detox massage tomorrow and a very well rated message therapy place. I have only had a massage once but because she was gentle it got rid of most of the aches and pains of my symptoms for several days does anyone advise against this?

Why not go back on the mino and Rif if it worked so well?

Be sure that it's a very "light" massage and then go home and take some binders with a lot of water. Toxins are stored in our tissues, and a massage can release a lot of toxins.

And girlie it worked but took awhile and it looks like the biaxin and rifabutin works better for most? How long are most on antibiotics for me total started with amoxy for the Lyme in July

Traveler, do you think that in spite of Saozemko being on abx that ordering some Japanese Knotweed or something that helps with inflammation would help?

Of course it would have to be started with 1 drop and go slow, but it sure helped me with my overall feeling of being bounced down a highway thing.

Saozemko, your lower body temp is also indicative of the bacteria at work. It is more comfortable with a cooler environment and somehow manages to lower our base body temp.

Mine is no longer normal at 98.6F., but rather 97.1F. I told my PCP a couple of weeks ago of that fact, and he stared at me, looked at the readings the nurse had just entered in my chart, and that is exactly where I was at.

But what's weird is why when I go outside in the warmth does it make me feel so much better? I love the sun and the warm air just not heat but it just seems to make me better

Just a thought, but some of the scented Epsom Salts have some added chemicals to them that you may be sensitive to.

binders: Activated charcoal, bentonite clay, Diatomaceous Earth are a few.

It does take awhile. I don't know if biaxin and Rifabutin works better than Mino and Rif.

The bart 'guru' uses biaxin with Rif.

But many LLMD's prescribe mino and Rif.

I've been on antibiotics for over 2 1/2 years now. Bartonella can take a year or longer.

I do personally know someone who was on for 3 1/2 years and finally got remission..she's been healthy and not treating for close to a year now..(I've forgotten)

But others' have been in remission with under a year of treatment...but 'generally' those people haven't been sick as long - usually less than a year of symptoms...from what I've seen/read.
