Has anyone experienced swelling around the eyes?
Since last August, I've had swelling around my eyes that gets better when I sleep and worse as the day goes on. It's very uncomfortable, painful, and is quite visible. I'm not sure exactly what it's from, but I know the root cause is either Lyme or co-infections.

I don't know Healing. I only get that when I cry.
Is it possible you are more sensitive to environmental irritations? Pollen? it's that time of year, and it can get painful. Have you tried any cool compresses on the area? This is a general sinus flare area for some people. Though the fact that this has been going on throughout all these months isn't a seasonal thing.
There are many Lymph nodes around the face, perhaps a little gentle downward fingertip massage might help give you some relief, if the 'nodes are getting backed up with toxins.

Thank you. I've tried lymphatic drainage, I take allergy meds daily, and everything else I can think of. It's gotten worse since I've started my Bartonella and Candida treatments. It also gets worse around my menstrul cycle. It's an odd symptom that my dr and I can't quite figure out.

Hmm. Well, if it was a herx reaction you'd think the lymphatic drainage would help.
Are your thyroids ok?
Yeast/candida is one of the factors to consider in facial swelling, so maybe you're stirring something up in there with the treatment. Are you using any binders? I don't know if they help with dead yeast cells but I don't think a binder would hurt at all to try.

My thyroid levels are a little low but my Dr thinks it's due to poor vitamin absorption. I use activated charcoal daily. I've wondered if it's due to candida, hormones, etc. but I can't figure out a pattern in the swelling other than it gets better when I sleep.

I have swelling around my eyes - but it happens exactly opposite of what you experience. My eyes swell only when I sleep - the longer I'm awake, the less swelling I have.
I have been blaming my adrenals, but I really have no idea as I can't seem to "pin" this on anything with researching it. I get frustrated when there are no leads in any of my search terms and give up. LOL! I need to get back to seeing what I can find.

This disease is such an odd creature. I have thought mine could be allergies, candida, back up of my liver, hormones, adrenals, but I'm just not sure. Have you taken adrenal support? Did it help at all?

Oh yeah, I 'm a lot of adrenal support because my adrenals crashed about
3 years ago and I"m still recovering. It wasn't until my adrenals crashed (and took down my thyroid as well) that I started having this issue. My eye swelling has eased up a bit, but I'm really fine tuning my detoxing, and still supporting my thyroid and adrenals.

It's definitely lots of fine tuning. Every time I take adrenal support lately, I get incredibly exhausted...even more than normal. I'm not sure if that's a sign that I need it, or a sign that I don't. Lol. It's so hard to navigate all of this with such a foggy brain.

Healingdaily,
Hi. I used to get this terribly. Sort of like edema of the eyes -both above and below. I would have to put compresses and stand under shower with water beating down on my eyes. And I always looked tired.
I think it's Lyme related inflammation. I also have adrenal/cortisol issues and seasonal allergies (since Lyme) so who knows.
I take Wobynzyme PS which is great for inflammation and Stephania Root by Montana Pharmacy. I started taking it at Trav's suggestion because I couldn't tolerate Japanese Knotwood and Buhner suggest Stephania in its place.
I began to notice the swelling of my eyes going away. I then researched and Stephania also helps eye issues too.
Mine is almost entirely gone now.
I also don't eat packaged foods or processed foods. If I do, the puffiness comes right back. I only use sea salt.

Huddie,
Thank you so much! I'll give this a try and hopefully they will help. I'm so grateful for your advice!

Of course. Just paying it forward. Everything I offer, I most likely learned on here.
Lyme is a steep learning curve and there are so many bizzarro symptoms that get added on - like severe eye puffiness.
Let us know if it works for you.
By the way I love salt. Not a sweet person at all. I add sea salt to all my meals and puffiness still gone.

Wow! Awesome! My Dr actually wants me to drink nothing by salt water to help me retain water. I'll amp it up!

I have this too! My eyes are so puffy and feel like they are sticky and sweating. I think it's my adrenals, but my tests for cortisol came back normal. I don't take anything for it.

Fembot, have you considered adrenal support? Whenever I take adrenal support it makes me more exhausted than normal. Like, can't leave the house or get up off the couch exhausted. I'm going to try the herbs that Huddie suggested.
