Muscle twitching...

It's incredibly bothersome, even at low levels!!

For me, a large part of it was from needing more magnesium, but I had to get the type that my body would use best for it to finally help that twitching under my eyes.

If magnesium doesn't help much, it may be caused by misfiring of the nerve (making it more of a nerve issue), so you might want to look into things that will help the nerves calm down.

Mine sure did - it was kind of odd too, after having had them for so long! But I literally had no symptoms once I healed, until my adrenals crashed and then the rest happened.

Twitching can happen for a number of reasons, so it depends on what's causing them. As I said, for me, it took being on the right form of magnesium, so shortly after I started the mag that I needed, the twitching rarely happens, unless I over do things.

If the only reason your muscles are twitching is because of these infections, it's likely nerves misfiring, and that "should" be able to be controlled (or at least lowered) with detoxing and nerve support, as well as treatment of course.

I do want to clarify the phrase 'end of remission' (maybe I'm just not awake???) - that's when we are done with treatments, and have relapsed. Relapsing of course, brings with it possibly all kinds of symptoms.

Muscle twitching can occur at any time during the infections, or during herxing. If it's during herxing, it will generally lower down once the herxing is over.

I have had muscle twitching here and there in my life before lyme. I had an eye twitch and would make my sister look at it to see if a boyfriend would notice. I have no idea why I got them in high school. Growing pains?

But, when I got lyme, it was a whole different story. My lower lip was the first to do it and, of course, being the goof ball that I am, I immediately went and showed hubby my "new trick." I was ready for the circus.

Then it was in various places all over my body. I can't remember a place that was immune from getting a twitch. It was no longer a trick, it was annoying.

Then came the most horrible the vibrations inside. It was no longer a twitch, but it felt like a cell phone was inside my abdomen and someone had called me while it was on vibrate.

I thought of all of these as related. Annoying and especially if I was trying to get to sleep.

Treatment made them all go away. BUT, I have been "healed" for a year now and have had about 5 instances of twitching. It scares the hello out of me because I think lyme is coming back. Definite PTSD. I just take a deep breath and relax because I know worrying could bring lyme back.

Just keep on treatment and it will go away and it won't be back like it is now.

I can't say for sure what made mine go away as far as supplements or herbs. Probably it was the synergy of all in combination which is what I believed healed me.

I did read that Huddie. Now here I go, probably as a fool for not totally agreeing with a doctor, but it won’t be the last time.

I think our symptoms are a huge combo of stuff. I don't know that I agree that all our lyme symptoms are toxins either from die off or toxins from antibiotics.

How come some get bit and the flu feeling right away? I think the bacteria does cause symptoms even when it is not a die off toxin.

Lyme tries to stay one step ahead of the immune system. I really believe that the reason many are bit and no symptoms, is that their immune system is keeping lyme symptoms away. Just like for me now. My immune system is keeping me lyme symptom free and has for the last year.

I still have lyme in me, but my immune system is working now.

How did I get it to work? I killed spirochetes slowly and slowly healed my immune system. I have always said it is a balancing act - this lyme healing.

You can't detox too much, take too much herbs, too many antibiotics or eat too much ice cream. LOL!

Our bodies are all about balance and working together, each system. When one gets out of whack, it can affect the others. They either work harder or they quit working all together.

I haven't a degree in this stuff. It is just regular ole reading.

Oh and I am not saying do not detox! Not by any means. I believe detoxing should be a thing done on a regular basis even if you don't have lyme. I have done it for years but never knew it was called detoxing. I was just helping out my liver or my kidneys or exfoliating my skin. It wasn't until I got lyme that I read the word detox.

We come in contact with MANY toxins every day. Just read the ingredients on anything in your house. It is difficult to get unpronounceable words off the ingredient list of all the products in your house. It is taking me many years.

Somethings I love how they work and have found no organic quality substitute. Also just driving down the road.... toxins. That aisle in the store of stinky stuff... toxins. Other people and their products all over them (hair products, perfume, etc)... toxins.

So don't get me wrong. I highly believe in detoxing and will do it the rest of my life even if I never did have lyme.

Huddie, I sometimes "think" I crave a doughnut. LOL!! I just tell myself it is all in my head.

However, I did just get older and had organic cheesecake. Melted in my mouth. Just a sliver. I'm good for another year now.

Just saw adrenal fatigue can cause twitching. So we shall see when the tests come back

My twitches were infection related.

Subsided with treatment...but every now and then when I start a new treatment...I get them again for a bit.

chuck - those are tremors.

Twitching is not shaking...but like little pulses in your muscles...that you often don't even see.

I've had both twitching and tremors.

Most of the twitching I couldn't see...except for a few really strong ones.

I thought I had Parkinson's Disease....OMG - talk about PTSD from that time of my life...waiting for a Neurologist appt. to have PD, MS, ALS ruled out.

I guess I've come a long way...

That's where I am right now, scared to death.

Chuck - remind me - did you have a known tick bite...or one or more positive lyme specific bands on a WB?

...or did a LLMD clinically diagnose you with Lyme disease?

Any of the above...is all you need to have a diagnosis.

Try to (I know it's hard) accept the Lyme Disease diagnosis...or you'll drive yourself crazy.

I didn't have my lyme diagnosis when I went to the Neurologist...we were still trying to find out what was wrong with me.

I presumably had lyme twice. 7-10 years ago. I was treated with the 1 month of doxy both times. I just had the wb test and everything came back negative. I've been seeing a Neuro, and he just put me on one month of doxy mainly to appease myself. He doesn't believe I have lyme, just possibly BFS. benign fasicular syndrome.
