I'm nearing the end of six weeks on Doxycycline, and have been very careful to avoid dairy (per instructions) due to its calcium content. I've been taking extra vitamin C, however, to help my adrenals and immune system. This morning I casually looked at the bottle and was surprised to see that each 500mg capsule has 60mg of calcium added.
I had been taking two C a day the same time as the Doxy, and now worry that doing this has ruined my absorption of the drug. And yet . . . a cup of brocolli has the same amount of calcium as the C capsule, and a can of sardines (which I eat a lot) way more calcium. Should I be concerned?
