Weird sensations in throat

I have had weird sensations in my throat for a short while now almost feels like a pulsating type feeling. Mainly in the top/back part of mouth.

Does anyone have a clue how to deal with this. Abx and my usual herbs seem to be unhelpful with this one and the usual PPI's etc... I have had a longer standing issue with a weird discomfort down the right side of my neck which my doctor has suggested is my vagus nerve (thus was guess work though) so I do wonder if it's that also causing this?

I had sharp shooting sensation in the right side of my neck along with aching that would come and go. Also felt like something was catching when I would turn my head. about 6 months later developed a pressure sensation that feels like something is in my throat. I have not figured it out. Was told it could be anxiety (although meds like xanax did nothing to change it) and acid reflux (meds did not work either). Another mystery symptom...

Have you had thyroid checked? Mine is a bit low. Sorry I'm not more help.

Things to rule out are thyroid and lymph glands. They can both cause swelling and discomfort as well as other odd feelings.

Vagus nerve involvement seems to be fairly common though.

What to do for it would rely on what may be causing it though.

Thyroid - possible thyroid meds.
Lymph glands - lymph massages, red root, and a general increase in detoxing.
Vagus nerve may be helped by lion's mane if the nerve is being demyelinated.

Yes I had thought maybe thyroid I am going to ask my doctor about this. So far my research has pulled up mainly acid issue. Either too much or not enough. My throat area is giving me too many mixed signals. From the outside it feels like it could be a tissue type issue, inside my mouth maybe nerve maybe acid.
Good old Lyme!
At my last appointment I was told I could only discuss one symptom per appointment!

I think I may try the lions mane again.
The interesting thing is whenever I get ill with anything that area acts up. It's also the area where I have a root canal and now a cracked tooth next to it. So a few areas to explore I guess.

One symptom per appointment??? And this is a LLMD??? I think I'd be changing doctors, they don't seem to understand that we can have serious issues with more than one thing at a time!!

I would definitely encourage you to get things tested and ruled out so that you can find out what it is. There is likely something that would help it.

Not my LLMD thankfully. This is my GP. When I dared mention more than one symptom he bolted upright and shouted now just wait a minute, one symptom per appontment!

I had a sore tooth on that side around same time that my throat acted up too. I ended up getting a crown but it is still not right. Please update if you figure anything out. If mine is reflux it would be the silent type. I've had heartburn when pregnant so I know what that feels like.

I hope not - because they need to get the entire symptom 'picture' when discussing treatment.

I'm beginning to wonder if this isn't some kind of new policy! My Internist pulled that on me my last visit, even interrupted me to usher me right out of the exam room! He did ask me how much my co-pays are, and when I told him I could well afford them, he took me back into the exam room for the other issue.

BUT, I keep getting billed for one of his two consults that day for $135. And I absolutely cannot afford that. I'm taking his office the bill and letting them take care of it.

Ridiculous!

Not my Lyme doctor thankfully Girlie, my GP. $800 a symptom would be something else!

They actually have a sign up now stating one issue per appontment. From my experience it fits in with their method of a different diagnosis for every symptom anyhow.
We may as well just type in our symptoms on Google. Cheaper and safer.
