And you are currently treating for an existing infection (s), will that help you in fighting off the bacteria from a new bite?

I'm hoping so. Let's just say all the ticks I've pulled off of me this year haven't made an increase in my symptoms. I don't think.

Well, if you are in treatment already, there's not a lot more you can do - but yes, generally the treatment that you are already doing will cover any possible bacteria that you picked up. The one thing that might happen is that you will back slide with symptoms getting a bit worse for a bit - but that's the bacteria being killed off and you herxing.

At the clinic they inject site and surround with ozone .my teacher does the same with bee stingers ...dont need any new pathogens thanks.

If you get a tick bite...

SAVE THE TICK! Submit it to a tick analysis center like the one at UMass Amherst. They test if for diseases, send you back a report. You give the report to the doctor, and they put on you abx immediately, because you have proof.

If you don't have proof, you're going to face an UPHILL battle to get abx from the docs. The sooner you go on it, the greater the likelihood of circumventing chronic lyme.

This just happened to my son. We all cried.

LLMD did up his abx. He pulses and was supposed to be off for ten days. Instead he stayed on entire ten days.

He started pulsing again Monday. Last night he had a fever and I'm wondering if it's the new bite. My symptoms presented 10-11 days post bite.

Have been doing extra detoxing and praying that this hasn't set him back.

I have major PTSD over ticks

Gfields - very true!! Save the tick! There are actually several places that are collecting ticks - some states are collecting them to prove that Lyme is in their state - so check to see if your state is one of these, if so, help prove that whatever infections the ticks have are in your state.

Or you can send it in for testing at one of the labs for your own knowledge. I do have to say that just because the tick had X,Y, Z infections, doesn't mean that whoever the tick attaches to will get X, Y and Z infections - but we do have to remember there has been NO minimum attachment time that has been established to know if the tick has had "enough" time to transmit diseases, so don't let anyone convince you otherwise.

And, please remember, it's not just ticks that carry these infections - it does not matter if a person sees a tick or not, or if the person develops a rash. Symptoms must equal suspicion/assumption of infection if symptoms fit.

I also have PTSD from ticks.... I do wonder if the herbals we are taking is a bit of protection?

I was thinking the other day that there should be a fundraiser - some awareness (take a bite out of lyme challenge ala bucket challenge) where people would send in a dollar for every tick they had removed....

I thought that it would raise awareness of the numbers of ticks...via number of dollars raised...!

Money would go to research .....cure ? (Not awareness...as we are all acutely aware!
